  • 20:02 I heard someone at work say that Papa John's was the only fast food pizza they liked. Since when is takeout pizza fast food? #
  • 20:03 I guess you could consider the places that sell preheated pizza slices as fast food joints, though. #

I had a theory that Greta's face was like an old leather shoe, and that maybe with time it would loosen up a bit, but now I'm not so sure.

Bill Maher bothers me. Like, I agree with him on most things, but I completely despise him as a person. :( And his skin without makeup is always REALLY RED and I can't figure out why.

I like Bill Maher all right, and I agree with him on many things as well, but there are some areas where I think he's just as stubborn as the people he criticizes at other times. Like his rants about medicine and nutrition, for instance, and his views on fantasy. In the Ron Howard interview in the most recent Real Time, he said something about how all superhero movies were the same. And what, you couldn't say the same thing about the movies HE likes?

Yeah. Even though I think he's usually right, he tends to talk to people like if they don't agree with him they're helpless idiots. A lot of his stubbornnesses and irrational judgments probably come from his pretending to be a comedian. I think that's my real problem with him. He wants us to be able to tell when he's being sarcastic and when he's being totally serious, even though it's all the same thing.

I like watching him but I would never want to hang out with him. I would be depressed for like the rest of my life.

I get the idea that a lot of what he says is both at the same time.

Mike Mulligan is STILL really popular to this day. I think ALL kids have a thing for construction equipment.

Perhaps the Papa John's person meant CHAIN restaurant pizza, as opposed to local pizzerias?

I'm pretty sure that is what they meant, but I've heard other references to pizza chains as "fast food," and it's really not accurate. Although maybe Sbarro can be considered fast food, since a lot of their stuff is pre-cooked and just needs to be reheated.

To my mind, chain pizza restaurants (with the exception of Sbarro, like you quoted above) are NOT fast food. Fast food=what you can get in a drive-thru that is already pretty much prepared and you don't have to wait for it. Pizza you have to wait for, because as a general rule you make pizza only after the person tells you what they want on it, and it takes a while to cook after being assembled.

That's what I think, too.

I have a book by Bill Maher that I got for Christmas one year but never read. Let me know if you'd rather have it instead. It's one that came out a couple years ago, a dictionary on political terms that are based on his style of humor.
