I had a dream last night that I really wanted to play The Sims, so I started installing it on my computer. I kind of want to do that in my waking life, too, but I don't think I will, mostly because: 1) it's time-consuming, and I already spend pretty much all my free time on the computer as it is, and 2) I'm not sure if I have any of my old data, and I'm not sure I want to start over again. Actually, I probably have the data SOMEWHERE, but last time I tried loading it into a reinstalled game, some of the objects wouldn't load properly, and nobody remembered any of their friends from outside their own houses. Not huge problems, I'll admit, but kind of a hassle nonetheless.

Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] jenhime! Also, congratulations to all you people for making this my first post to receive over fifty replies. Here's a similar meme, which I got from [livejournal.com profile] lozenger8:

Post this in your journal, asking your friendslist (or whatever stranger that happens to wander by) to respond with whatever they know about you. It can be as matter of fact as 'Your name is Bridget, you're 25 and attending Harvard.' to the absolute useless 'One Thursday, you tried to hop down a flight of stairs and you fell on your face'.

Tag five people. A week later, write an 'about me' post to fill in the gaps in your friends knowledge.

These are both courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] majellen:

You are a thirtysomething
You're a little frustrated that you can't hear all the tones that the young 'uns can but will be more than happy if it means you don't have to listen to their damn ringtones on the bus anymore.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 14.9kHz
Take the mosquito ringtones hearing test

Actually, I could sort of hear the next one up, but only because I knew there was supposed to be something there. And keep in mind that my ears are still somewhat damaged from the concert last night.

Heh, I like my most popular law. Harry really does get shabby treatment for someone who's saved the wizarding world so many times, doesn't he? But I've gone over this before.

Finally, here's a question. What programs do you people use to burn CD's? I know I've gotten some from both [livejournal.com profile] revme and [livejournal.com profile] obsessical that included the track information, which I've never been able to do.

I DO know that you're quite the fan of the OZ series while enjoying bands such as Rilo Kiley, They Might Be Giants, Cracker and a variety of others.

You also enjoy the food at both Red Lobster and Olive Garden.

for cd burning, i use itunes, and you can actually print out a little track info list (there are different options for layout, too. it's neat.)

You are well-versed in many of your favorite artists. It must be the librarian in you.

I use Toast to burn my CD's.

Or just a decent memory for details and tendency to become obsessed with things I like (although maybe that's one reason I wanted to become a librarian).

WHATEVER I know about you? I don't think that can be summed up in a sentence. Maybe I'll just focus on what other people are not likely to know about you:

Contrary to recent photographs, in college you had very shaggy hair and a moustache.

You at one point in your life at least had cousins who lived in Ohio. Because your mom and siblings once dropped you off at my house on the way to go visit said cousins.

I'm going to have to play this game, too. Although my reponses to the last game were not nearly as interesting, nor as numerous, as yours. Then again you have a bigger friends list.

In other news, I use "Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum" to burn CDs. I don't like this so much as this program my dad has that allows you to actually edit tracks, but I don't have that program, and don't remember what it's called, either.

I think it was actually my mom's cousin who lived there (which would make her my cousin once removed). I don't actually have any first cousins. Beth, on the other hand, has a whole bunch of them. And her cousin Dorothea is my honorary cousin. {g}

Or, another thing I know about you: there was this random rumor going around the alumni newsletters that you were married. If that was true, Dorothea would be even more of a cousin. So it all works out.

From: [identity profile] vovat.livejournal.com
I have NO idea how that rumor started, but I think I corrected it, so it'll presumably be right in the next newsletter. (Well, unless I decide to get married before the next newsletter comes out, in which case it will be wrong again. {g})

Your username is chosen from the person sitting next to you in your high school physics class. Your actual name is Nathan (or it's the one you go by, anyway). Your primary fandom is the Oz fandom, not the movie so much as L Frank Baum's books and those still continuing to be written. Your secondary fandom would probably be The Simpsons, and Futurama is also there at some point.

You know a scary amount of trivia. You know a lot about the musical artists you listen to, and have seen many of them in concert with your girlfriend [livejournal.com profile] bethje.

You work in a Library, as well as having various temporary jobs - including one (sort of) recently with the IRS. You really want a permanent job.

*goes for the obvious*

Or at least I CLAIM to be one online.

Actually, now that I think about it, isn't it usually adult men who pretend to be other things on the Internet, and not vice versa? Maybe I'm just different, though. {g}

I gave Cracker some cat treats last night. I didn't give him any crackers, but I once got Arthur and Star to eat some of those.

I kind of liked having a beard for a little while, but I don't think anyone else liked it much.

I always use iTunes, and there's a tutorial I wrote on using iTunes to submit to the Gracenote CDDB. http://music.wikia.com/wiki/How_To_Make_Your_Song_Titles_Come_Up_When_You_Put_Your_Mix_CD_In:Essay is the link.

Also, you enjoy much of the same music I do.
