The nerds on the Internet are not geeks

Yesterday, bethje and I went to Great Adventure. It wasn't really the best day to go, since the place was crowded. It was cooler than it had been in the recent past, though, and I wanted to take full advantage of our season passes. We were only able to ride a few rides: Batman, the Musik Express, the Skyway (which was actually running for once), the Runaway Train, and Medusa. I had wanted to ride Nitro, which is probably my favorite ride there (and definitely my favorite roller coaster there), but we tried twice, and the line was barely moving both times. In fact, the first time, it seemed like they weren't running it at all. We DID get to hear some guy argue with a security guard, though. At around the same time, another guard went after a guy who was trying to cut in line. That's about the only time I've ever seen the guards there actually do anything. Usually, people cut in line right in front of them, and they just stand there.

While there, we used a coupon that let us get free fries if we bought two foot-long hot dogs and a medium drink. The weird thing is that the hot dogs come with potato chips, so it was a very potato-heavy offer. We ended up bringing the chips home, but the hot dogs were very good. Still not totally worth the outrageous price they charged, perhaps, but good food nonetheless.

After leaving the park, we went back to Beth's and watched What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, a pretty good movie that I'd never seen before. And today, we're going to be heading over to the Monster-Mania Convention, so expect a report on that in the near future.
