Satan eats Cheese Whiz
Aug. 25th, 2005 12:58 pmYesterday,
bethje brought her dog Dewey to a dog park for the first time. We went with Beth's cousin Patti and her dog Jess. Dewey seemed to have fun there, but he didn't play with the other dogs as much as we thought he would.
After that, Beth and I went out with Patti's sister Alyssa, who bought us dinner at Ruby Tuesday. I had a bison burger for the first time ever, and it was good. I'd probably get one again. Ruby Tuesday has good burgers in general, though. For dessert, I had the strawberry tallcake.
That night, we watched the first disc of Monsters, Madness, and Mayhem, a documentary that was originally shown on the Sci Fi Channel. This disc dealt with the Devil and witches. I thought it was pretty interesting, although it didn't say that much I hadn't heard already. I did learn that the United States Army has instructions for a Satanic ritual in their religious guidebook. The main weakness of the film was the poor quality of the historical reenactments. I think I've mentioned before how the History Channel occasionally has somewhat ridiculous reenactments, but the ones on Monsters made those look downright realistic. Also, I think the Monsters documentary lacked transition between segments, and really could have elaborated more on certain things. I would have liked to hear more about the supposed backmasking of Satanic messages in rock music, for instance. There are probably other documentaries devoted entirely to that subject, though.
I just recently awoke from a dream where I was in some weird hotel, and I floated into one of the rooms where a convention was being held. There was also something about going through a board game box and picking out the inappropriate tokens, which was probably inspired by my doing the same thing with Beth on Monday night.
