So, we're back in the east. We ended up only having dessert at Sonic, and it wasn't that great. [livejournal.com profile] bethje got a milkshake so thick it was difficult to drink. I got a banana split, which was pretty good, but not really great or anything. It was all vanilla ice cream, with pineapple, chocolate, and strawberry toppings. I liked the strawberry, but, if I had the choice, I probably would have replaced the other two with something else. I like the banana split at Friendly's, but I usually substitute other flavors for the chocolate ice cream and topping. I'm not sure why, but I've never liked chocolate ice cream. I like chocolate in other forms, but not that one. I'm honestly not a huge fan of vanilla, either, but it's not bad. My favorite ice cream flavor overall is probably peach, but a lot of places don't have that. Anyway, to get back on the topic of Sonic, I'd like to go back there sometime for an actual meal. I might like it, even if [livejournal.com profile] colleenanne doesn't.

The flight home was uneventful. Before leaving, we got some subs at the Quizno's in the airport, which were good, but ridiculously overpriced. I suppose the high prices are typical of airport food, though. After getting back to Philadelphia, it took forever for our luggage to come out. Everything worked out all right, though. We're back, and I'm going back to work tomorrow.

Oh, by the way, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] slfcllednowhere for the Christmas card.

Quizno's is expensive everywhere. But they make a good meatball sub.

Peach ice cream rocks, and I wish they had it more flavors. If you and Beth ever visit during the summer months, we can get some peach ice cream from Graeter's. It's yummy.

Maybe you will like Sonic if you had it again. Their corndogs aren't bad, and it's hard to find corndogs anywhere anymore. I love corndogs.

Probably not as much as it is in airports, though.

I didn't even know they had meatball subs. I got an Italian one. I probably wouldn't have gotten a meatball one anyway, though. Too messy to eat on a plane.

What was the place we went for ice cream last time I visited you?

I like corn dogs, too. I'm also interested in trying Sonic's breakfast sandwiches.

Yeah, airports tend to be pricier. The meatball sub would have definitely been pretty messy whilst flying.

I think we did go to Graeter's when you were here. Hmm. They should have had peach ice cream then. Maybe you've already had it.

In my opinion, most breakfast sammiches are ick. The only thing I can tolerate is a sausage biscuit. The idea of eggs, cheese, bacon and/or sausage together makes me queasy.

Wow, sausage is about the only kind of breakfast sandwich I WON'T eat. I actually do like sausage, but I'm picky about it, and most fast food places don't have very good sausage. As a general rule, I prefer links to patties, but you can't very well put a sausage link on a biscuit, muffin, or bagel. Bacon, ham, and eggs are great on sandwiches. I've never been a big fan of American cheese, but it's tolerable, and it's pretty much to be expected at a fast food place.

By the way, do you also dislike omelettes?

The only omelette I would consider is an omelette with cheddar cheese and bacon, and only because my Mom and Dad made those for us when we were little. I'm not big on eggs, in general. Occasionally a scrambled egg (with or without cheese) is ok. Deviled eggs are ok, too, but I have to agree with Beth and say that bacon in deviled eggs is NOT ok. hehe.

I love ham and cheese omelettes, especially with cheddar cheese. Mushrooms are also good in that capacity. It bugs me that so many places stop serving eggs so early in the day. There's always Denny's, though.

You're closer than we are, then. I don't think there are any in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland.
