Okay, there's one thing I don't understand about the plot of Mario and Luigi.

After Mario and Luigi retrieve all the pieces of the Beanstar, Prince Peasley (I think) gives them a fake Beanstar, so they won't have to give the real one to Bowletta. They continue to hold on to the real one, though. Sure enough, Bowletta's sidekick Fawful sees through the ruse, and goes through the Brothers' suitcase to get the real one. Retrieving it isn't all that difficult, but, after Luigi gets it back, they just return it to Beanbean Castle. Why couldn't they have just left it at the castle when bringing the fake one to Bowletta? Oh, well. Now, I'm trying to get through Bowser's castle, which is attacking the Beanbean Kingdom from the air (I didn't know it could fly!), but it's kind of difficult.

Okay, I'll bet nobody even read or cared about that.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] bethje bought me dinner at IHOP last night, which was very nice of her. I had a ham, cheddar, and mushroom omelette with three pancakes. After that, we went to Wal-Mart and waited in line for a long, long time to buy one thing. There was something about how they had to close down all the registers for fifteen minutes, because they were staying open later than usual. When we first got in line, there were only two registers open. We assumed they were just closing them down gradually, but it WAS Wal-Mart, which never seems to have enough registers open. I mean, doing so would involve actually being considerate to their customers, wouldn't it?

And here's a quiz result:

Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister
You are Belle & Sebastians If Youre Feeling
Sinister.

What essential indie rock album are you?

Cool. That's probably my favorite Belle and Sebastian album. I know from the lyrics that one of the other possible results is Doolittle, but I'm not sure about the others.

Sinister's probably my third favorite after "Dear Catastrophe Waitress" and "Tigermilk".

Also, herre's the other ones. The only albums on there I've listened to are "Sinister" and "Doolittle", although I've heard a song by My Bloody Valentine, and I really dug that, which makes me think "Loveless" might be worth picking up. But I hate Modest Mouse, and I tend to think Pavement was a little overrated, but I haven't heard enough of them to really form a judgment. And I'm not a fan of Wilco, "Down With" not withstanding.

I think I'd have to agree with you on Pavement. I mean, what I've heard of them wasn't bad, and I think there's a definite...uh, cuteness(?)...to the lyrics and rhyming schemes. When I see comments to the effect that they're one of the greatest bands, or even simply one of the greatest indie bands, I have to wonder if I haven't been listening to the right songs.

And I really haven't heard much of MBV, MM, or Wilco.
