My Hotmail account still isn't working properly. It's a really weird problem, because I have three Hotmail accounts, and it's only the one that won't load. And it isn't just a matter of a "This server is too busy" or "page not found" error coming up (which has happened plenty of times in the past), but of the browser crashing totally when trying to load my mail. Well, Internet Explorer crashes, anyway, and that's what I usually use. Netscape and the AOL browser will load my account, but there are a LOT of bugs when I try to access stuff. Besides, I'm not at a place where I can use either of those browsers at this time. I sent a complaint to Hotmail's technical support, but I haven't heard back from them. I'm not sure whether to wait it out or have all my mail forwarded elsewhere. I'm not sure there's any free e-mail service that DOESN'T suck, but Hotmail has been giving me a particulary large amount of trouble as of late. Any suggestions?

By the way, I got my mix CD from [livejournal.com profile] countblastula, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I should have a chance to work on the mix CDs that I'm making for other people this coming weekend.

Let me know how you like it. If you don't approve, I'll be crushed and never show my face here again.

Actually it was songs I already had on my computer and it only took about 10 minutes of work, so maybe it's not that great.

This is probably of no help to you, but I pay about $1 a month for my fusemail account. however, you can't get Yahoo groups via fusemail, so it's probably useless. However, I don't ever have any problems with it.

Can't get Yahoo groups? That's odd. I used to have a separate Hotmail account for stuff from mailing lists, and I only checked it occasionally. I was glad when Hotmail started allowing more storage, so I could get everything sent to one account. I guess that won't be the case anymore, though.

Hotmail has been working sporadically as of late, so I've been able to read some of my mail, but by no means all of it. I've already set up livejournal to send replies to my posts to my Gmail account, at least until this problem gets sorted out.

I'd really rather not pay for e-mail at all, if I can help it. I guess you get what you pay for in cases like this, but I can't really understand why it would be so hard to keep a mail server running. Maybe that shows how little I know about computers.

Do you not like gmail to replace hotmail? It has a ton of storage.

It seems all right, but I'll admit to being a little scared by all the "IF YOU USE GMAIL, PEOPLE WILL SPY ON YOU!" stories that have been popping up. I'm not sure I believe them, but I'm a bit suspicious of an e-mail service that offers a ton of space for free. I mean, there must be a catch, right?

Thanks. I suspected there was some overreacting going on.

I was a little concerned when I noticed "oreilly" in that URL. I don't want Gmail trying to rub falafel on me! {g}

hehe. O'reilly, of O'reilly books(his company publishes a well-respected series of computer books. I've used a few of them). Not of the O'reilly Factor.
