I'm sure not EVERYONE participating is racist, but I think the basis of the movement is steeped in racism. Just like how I don't think most of the people I know who are involved in PETA are too keen on Ingrid Newkirk's ideas, but she DID start the thing.

Ah, but that's what you SAID the first time....

That said, I think the sudden Lack of Respect for the Office of the Presidency is probably racially motivated, because it's far too extreme to be mere politics (and is something new). But there are definitely people who just hate Big Government with a fiery passion and probably would protest ANY Democrat... which is annoying in its own right. Not the hating Big Government, which is sensible in many ways, but the blindly taking sides, especially when groups like the Christian Right are hardly advocates for keeping the government out of people's business themselves. I blame the us vs. them mentality encouraged by political talk show hosts.
