Date: 2009-12-21 04:11 pm (UTC)Because everyone is busy twittering and facebooking? I don't know, I always feel like lj has been abandoned by people I know personally and I mostly just read book-related blogs on it anymore. Is it any wonder why that's also what I tend to post about anymore?
Also: 13:35 Most folks call them green onions, but they're really scallions.
These old morning-show deejays my parents used to listen to played this ALL THE TIME at Christmas, and I STILL get this line in my head sometimes when I'm cutting and/or shopping for green onions (I mean scallions) and often stop myself from saying it out loud for fear that no one will know what I'm talking about and I don't think I could explain it anyway....

Could be. Personally, I don't think either of those is a valid substitute. Twitter only allows short observations; and while Facebook does allow longer posts, the interface is kind of awkward. But there's no accounting for tastes, and I've noticed that people using a new social networking site often tend to abandon the old ones.
