A Sad Medium
Feb. 5th, 2009 10:27 pmSo, you know about those people who claim they can talk to ghosts, right? No, this isn't about the old-school carnival-style tricks they use, but about what the ghosts are supposed to be saying. A person will get a message from a deceased loved one that's something like, "I'm doing well. You need to move on with your life. And give my regards to your brother Jim. Or is it John?" (I guess spirits tend to mumble, which makes sense, as I know from Halloween costumes on TV that they're always covering themselves with sheets.) But think of it from the ghost's point of view. You've just recently died and discovered beyond a doubt that there IS an afterlife, and you have the chance to communicate with a still-living friend or relative. Are you really going to have nothing to say beyond some advice that sounds like it came out of a fortune cookie? Or is the spirit world like one of those dictatorships where they read and censor all the outgoing mail?

Date: 2009-02-06 03:48 am (UTC)I have a friend who's a medium, but she doesn't channel dead people very much. She mostly channels...I'm too tired to explain it right now, but she seems to have a clear connection to a Source or the Source. idk. But I know her well enough to be fairly certain that she's not nuts and not out to manipulate anybody; and I've heard enough from the channeling to believe what she says, as much as I can believe anything without concrete proof.
