What in the world is Victoria's Secret marketing now? And is it more tacky than Chia Obama?

What in the world is Victoria's Secret marketing now?

It looks like at least half of every one of their stores is made up of stuff from the Pink line, which has words printed on underwear and such, and just generally looks like it's supposed to appeal to kids. I remember when that store was classier.

And is it more tacky than Chia Obama?

I'm not sure that's possible. Except maybe if they made Chia Lingerie.

The Pink line, huh? Sadly, I don't spend much time in Victoria's Secret ... maybe that's for the best.

Chia Lingerie. It would start out looking like a wet t-shirt contest, but then things would go horribly wrong ....

Well, all you have to do is glance into a store to see a whole bunch of the Pink stuff. Or you can look here (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/landing/?cgnbr=OSPNKZZZZZZ).

I don't get much chance to look into a store -- there's one at the mall in Fort Wayne, but I avoid the mall whenever humanly possible. *finishes looking at models*

It seems that, like so many other businesses, Victoria's Secret has decided the only shoppers worthy of the name are women too young to legally drink alcohol.

There actually is a Juniors section in the latest Victoria's Secret catalog-- I just noticed that yesterday! It's all pajama like and not-indecent sorts of underwear, perfectly appropriate for 14 year olds, but I still wondered what kind of giggling and teasing would go on in the family if their teenager ordered something from Victoria's Secret!

I think my sister might have bought stuff from there when she was a teenager. Still, I think it's weird that they'd advertise that stuff in a catalog that's mostly made up of pictures of scantily-clad women. Sort of mixed messages, you know?

The upstate thing is very, very true.
I'm from Long Island, moved to Buffalo recently and it's been so hard for me to start referring to up here as Western New York instead of just Upstate New York.

Is there a name for the western part of New York, like Texas and Florida have panhandles? Maybe the "Bottleneck" or something? I don't think I've ever even been to that part of New York, although my wife has.

Wikipedia explains everything! Okay, not EVERYTHING, but it's usually a good starting point for research. It's certainly an invaluable resource in my mythology posts.

They actually had a Wegmans where I used to live in southeastern Pennsylvania, so I don't think they count as an exclusively Western New York thing anymore.
