I think I might have done this before, but a few people on my friends list just took this quiz, so I figured I might as well follow suit.

One problem I've always found with quizzes like this is how many compound questions there are. I mean, "It makes sense and is fair that some people make much more money than others"? What if you think it makes sense, but isn't fair? And the race question was even worse, because it said something about race issues never ending because people identify more with their own race. I'd have to say that people identify more with others they see as part of their own kind, but race is merely one way to define this "kind," and a quite arbitrary one at that. Still, I think my result was pretty accurate.

Hear, hear. A lot of people aren't like, "Yay, capitalism!" - it's just better than the available alternatives.

Sort of like democracy, I suppose.

Actually I think the "makes sense and is fair" question was harder to answer than the race one-- the way the latter was worded just struck me as illogical enough to answer a sure "disagree" to. There were a couple related to war that tripped me up a bit, ones that said things like "defend when necessary" and I'm thinking "by whose definition of 'necessary'?" and a few others that sounded like they were written to describe a point of view that the person writing the question disagreed with, like, biased because it made anyone who would actually say "agree" sound stupid.

I thought a cool feature was how it compared your scores to the other people taking the test, and was amused to see how close I actually fall to average when in real life it seems I don't agree with anybody, but I guess that's because all the more extreme scores of people canceled each other out so now the average is just left/libertarian of center even though everybody else is really all over the place. The one-variable ones are probably easier to judge oneself against-- it turns out I'm slightly more non-interventionist than the average quiz taker and slightly more conservative, both probably due to me being Pro-Life!

And I'm more centrist than you, obviously, but tend to be more libertarian than left instead of the other way around, but I could've said that before I took the quiz too.

Yeah, I think it's interesting how biased the wording can be on some quiz questions. That quiz is much better in that respect than, say, AOL polls, though.

I took it so long ago that I don't really remember the results ... but oddly, I think I scored further right last time.
