Here's a meme that I got from [livejournal.com profile] revme:

Bold the establishments you've been to. Underline your favorites. Strikethrough the ones you don't like.

1.Arby's - It's not a place I go often, but it's not as bad as people like to claim, either.
2. Beefeater
3. Benihana
4. Black Angus
5. Blimpie's - Is there actually a restaurant called "Blimpie's"? I got a Blimpie sub at the Uni-Mart near my college, and it wasn't very good. If this is referring to something else, though, ignore the boldface and striking.
6. Buffalo Grill
7. Burger King - I used to really like the Tendercrisp sandwich, but I've gotten burned out on them recently. The Croissan'wiches are still good, though.
8. California Pizza Kitchen
9. Carl's Jr.
10. Chick-fil-A - My favorite fast food place.
11. Checkers (or Rally's) - I like Checkers. Not enough to underline them, but the burgers are good, the banana shakes are excellent, and I appreciate their being one of few fast food joints to serve hot dogs. Their hot dogs aren't super-great or anything, but they're good enough.
12. Chipotle
13. Chuck E. Cheese's - I've never actually eaten AT Chuck E. Cheese, but I did have some leftover pizza when my brother worked there, and I didn't particularly care for it.
14. Claim Jumper
15. Cluck-U-Chicken
16. Coney Island Hot Dogs - I had a Nathan's hot dog on Coney Island. It was good, but I was essentially paying a lot more for the same kind of frankfurter I could get at the grocery store.
17. Del Taco
18. Denny's - I think I like Denny's more than I should. Not everything there is great (their fries tend toward being overcooked and flavorless), but they have good egg dishes and quality mozzarella sticks. Besides, not much else is open when you're hungry late at night. Too bad there are usually annoying teenagers there then.
19. El Pollo Loco
20. Fatburger
21. Firehouse Subs
22. Hard Rock Cafe - I went there once in New York, and was not impressed. Less obnoxious than Planet Hollywood, though.
23. Hardee's
24. Harvey's
25. HomeTown Buffet
26. Hooters
27. In-n-Out
28. Jack in the Box
29. Jimmy John's - The hot dog place? I thought that was local around where I grew up.
30. Johnny Rockets - They're not bad, but the service often is. And I really don't want to see the staff dance to "Stayin' Alive" or "Last Dance" every time I'm there.
31. Kelsey's
32. KFC
33. Krispy Kreme
- They have excellent glazed doughnuts, but I don't think I've had any other kind.
34. Krystals
35. Long John Silver's - Eh, I preferred Arthur Treacher's.
36. McDonald's - I love the egg sandwiches, but am less keen on their dinner offerings. Not bad in a pinch, though.
37. Oporto
38. Outback Steakhouse
39. Panda Express
40. Planet Hollywood - [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I went to one at Disney World because we had a $15 voucher. It was enough to pay for a milkshake, a smoothie, and an order of breadsticks.
41. Quizno's - I like their subs, but I don't like that they use sweet tomato sauce on their meatball sub. (They did the only time I got one, at least.)
42. Rainforest Cafe - Beth went to the one in Atlantic City, but I never did.
43. Red Lobster - I'm very fond of the shrimp and the biscuits.
44. Red Robin
45. Red Rooster
46. SeƱor Frog's
47. Skyline Chili
48. Sonic - I've only ever been there once, and all I got was a banana split. They've actually brought them to my general area, though (after years of commercials), so I'm sure I'll go back sometime.
49. Steak and Shake
50. Subway - I used to get their meatball subs all the time, but I don't like them as much now. I think they might have changed the sauce.
51. Sweet Tomatoes
52. T.G.I.Friday's - Beth and I used to go there a lot, but we don't anymore.
53. Taco Bell
54. TCBY

55. The Old Spaghetti Factory
56. Tim Horton's - In my area, we have Dunkin' Donuts instead.
57. Wendy's
58. Whataburger
59. White Castle
60. Togo's
61. IHOP - Not sure what this is doing at the end here. I like IHOP, but there's kind of a weird flavor to their food.

Totally stealing this, although more than a few of those places gave me food poisoning, woo.

Around here, Jimmy John's is a chain of sub/sandwich shops (kind of in the same vein as Quiznos but they try to differentiate themselves from Quiznos/Subway/etc) that also delivers.

I've heard that a lot of people get sick after eating at the Red Robin near my mom's house.

I think that Jimmy John's is more likely to be the one they're talking about, but that is the name of a hot dog place near West Chester. They had a photo of the owner shaking hands with Bill Clinton right above a sign saying not to put any sauerkraut into boxes or cups, so I figured the juxtaposition meant that Clinton ran off with a big box of sauerkraut. {g}

Tim Horton's is basically Canada-only, but I guess there are a couple sneaking across the border. Damned illegal immigrants.

Also, that is indeed Blimpie's. I think we have one in Seattle, but it might have closed as no one went there.

There were Tim Horton's in Detroit when I lived there, but that's because Detroit is right there butt-humping Canada.

I hated Detroit so much. LOL.

I know there are some in upstate New York, and I think they might have them in Rhode Island as well.

See, I didn't even know enough about Tim Horton's to differentiate it from Dunkin' Donuts in the first place.

Also, I suspect a rabid IHOP fan of just adding that to the end of the list, because seriously, who makes a list of 61 things on purpose?

There is a Tim Horton's in my hometown in St. Albans, WV. My mom and uncle swore it was a front for the mob, because they never saw anyone going in (I think they were joking?). I explained it's a large chain, and unlikely to be a mob front.

There's a shoe store in my area that's not even in a shopping center or anything, and seems to often have cops in the parking lot. I wouldn't be surprised if that were a front for the mob, or at least some kind of drug-related activity.

And of course no self-respecting West Virginian would want any of those socialistic Canadian donuts! :P
