Waking up yesterday morning to the news that George Carlin had died was pretty messed up. I actually saw him live back when I was in college. Not all of his jokes were funny, but I was very amused by his language bits.

Last night, I did something I'd been curious about for a while, but never had the guts to go through with. I ordered pizza at the Olive Garden. I'd always wondered whether it was good, but I thought ordering it would be kind of tacky. As far as I could tell, it was there for picky kids who wouldn't eat anything else on the menu. Hey, I was a really picky eater myself, and I still kind of am, although I've always liked pasta. Anyway, the pizza was pretty good, but not anything special. I can get better at a few different local pizza parlors. I don't think I'll be getting it at the Olive Garden again. My leftovers did make a good breakfast, though.

After dinner, [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I went to buy two things at Wal-Mart, and ended up waiting way too long to check out. Are there any Wal-Marts where they actually have a sufficient number of registers open at any given time? I know I've been to other stores where they would try to open another register if there were more than three people in line, but Sam Walton apparently wanted no truck with that idea. I'm not even sure why they have so many registers that they never seem to open. I think it might just be to tease the customers.

I don't really have much to say this morning, do I? Oh, well. I'm going to post this anyway.

*tap tap* *ahem* Hi-- I'm annamatic. I found you because you share an alarming number of interests (including Muckafurgason, what!!) with me. So, like, I friended you and stuff.

That's cool. Muckafurgason was definitely a band that broke up prematurely. They were one of the best bands I've seen open for TMBG.

The Wal Mart we went to that is in the town next to my college has self checkouts. It was nice.

I like the idea of the self checkouts, but I used to have to monitor them when I worked at Kmart, and they really seemed to be technology that was rushed out before they'd worked out all the bugs. Maybe they're better now, but I still prefer not to use them. Besides, at Wal-Mart, the lines for the self checkouts are sometimes also incredibly long.
