Several people on my friends list have done this already, and I figure I might as well jump on the bandwagon.

1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie. [I'm actually going to disregard this and screen comments instead, to avoid the inevitable "I knew that, but someone else beat me to it!" problems that I've experienced myself with some of these. I mean, it's not like it really matters, but I don't think it's fair that people who just happen to read their friends page at the right time get an advantage.] EDIT: It's been a week, so I'm going to go ahead and unscreen the comments. You can still guess the ones that haven't been correctly identified.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions

Yes, those are all correct. And you should probably see UHF again. {g}

Oh, right. I always get mixed up cos that's the title of the book. But yeh, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

From: [identity profile] vovat.livejournal.com
That's all right. It wouldn't have even been a problem if it hadn't been for the recent Burton film actually having the "Charlie" title. The weird thing about that is that it focused more on Willy Wonka than the earlier one did.

6. Where's the fetus going to gestate? You going to keep it in a box?
--Life of Brian I think.

8. Snozzberries? Whoever heard of a snozzberry?
--ummm... oh yeah. Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, as opposed to the newer Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (or as opposed to the much older BOOK...)

9. If nobody comes down here and buys a car in the next hour, I'm gonna club this baby seal. That's right! I'm gonna club this seal to make a better deal. You know I'll do it, too, cause I'm crazy.
--darn I've heard this one but can't think what it is.

11. You want a Pepsi, pal, you're gonna pay for it.
--haha, I know this one because I've only had the entire movie completely memorized since I was about ten... Back to the Future!

13. The tail I could live with. But the fleas? They're murder.
--aw man, not only am I sure I know this, but I also swear I've seen it RECENTLY. Give me a moment... oh! One of the Harry Potters, Prisoner of Azkaban? It would be Sirius talking? Duh.

Yeah, all the ones you named are correct. I actually didn't remember the Prisoner of Azkaban line until I saw it in the IMDB. I need to rewatch the Potter films.

1 is O Brother! Where Art Thou? That should've been on my list. :)
2 is Futurama: Bender's Big Score.
8 is either Willie Wonka/Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
9 is UHF.

I'm a bit stumped as to the rest. But man, such good movies.

Date: 2008-02-24 01:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] vovat.livejournal.com
Thanks. You got all four correct.

#3 - is this The Neverending Story? It's been so long since I've seen the movie (I've read the book more) that I'm not sure.

#11 - Back to the Future. One of my favorite trilogies.

#13 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Guess that's all I know.

Yeah, those are right. I read the book of The Neverending Story a few years ago, but I've never seen the film sequels. I've heard that Part 2 is based on the second part of the book, but isn't all that good.

3) is Neverending Story, I Believe?
8) is most definitely Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
11) is totally Back to the Future!!!

Hmmm, 2 seems very, very familiar but I can't quite place it.
