Toe Troubles

My big toe still hasn't healed, and I'm not sure what to do. I've been soaking it in the salt and vinegar solution pretty regularly, and using both the cream and drawing salve. It's been kind of going back and forth, looking and feeling better one day, and then getting much worse the next. The other day, all of the pain seemed to be localized in a white, welt-like area. I'm not sure if that was good or bad, and I don't have a very good track record as far as guessing about such things goes. It's definitely better than how it was at first, but I'm thinking something else might be necessary to fix it. I'm probably going to make an appointment for the regular doctor, and see what they say. If I have to go back to a podiatrist, though, I'm not sure what I should do. Apparently the insurance company refused to pay most of the charges last time, but I still haven't received a bill, so I don't know what's up with that. And I don't want to have to hunt around for another one. Does anyone have anything they can recommend, whether it involves doctors or home remedies?

There's not much else to tell, but I will mention that I installed the Open for Business expansion pack for The Sims 2, and spent a large part of Saturday playing the game. I haven't actually tried opening a business yet (I understand that it's difficult), but the stuff about chemistry and turn-ons and turn-offs is interesting. I get the impression that this is something they introduced in Nightlife and carried on to future expansions, sort of like the interactions in Hot Date for the original Sims. The giant statues are also kind of neat. Also in my game, as per someone's suggestion (majellen's, I believe?), I used the Elixir of Life to prematurely age a few teenagers to adults, and I also let one of the Sims reach old age. I generally use the Elixir to keep my Sims perpetual adults, but I wasn't really doing much with this particular guy (I had him married to a woman long enough to produce children, then had them break up), so I didn't mind sacrificing him to the ravages of time.

I saved a long survey that travspence did, so I might post my answers in my next post. Or I might just forget about it. I haven't decided yet.

There's something weird about the baby-production part of my game. At first, all the babies born were girls. Then three different families had twins (which did include some boys). You'd think the odds would have meant at least one boy born without a twin, wouldn't you?

Sorry to hear about the toe problem :(

I'm a member of naturalliving and sometimes the people in there are able to offer some alternatives to visiting a doctor. It might be worth a shot.
