As of today,
bethje and I have been dating for seven years. We didn't do much today, but we plan to go out to dinner and to the movies later in the week. We did exchange gifts, though, so I might as well tell you what I got:
We did get ice cream at Coldstone Creamery today, and I eventually got a copy of the new They Might Be Giants album, The Else. The first store we tried (and the only one that was an actual music store) was sold out, and said they wouldn't get any more in until Friday. Barnes & Noble had a copy, but it cost $18, which I decided was too steep. Circuit City didn't have it at all, but that particular Circuit City never seems to have much of anything anyway. I finally found it at Best Buy, but they only had one copy, so Beth will probably get hers on Friday (assuming the music store really does get more copies by then). She's not as impatient as I am. {g}
We already have tickets to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tomorrow, so that should be cool. Expect some reviews in the near future.
- Hyacinths and Thistles, by the 6ths
- All Hail West Texas, by the Mountain Goats
- The Sims 2 "Open for Business" expansion pack
- Three Oz books: Chris Dulabone's Toto in Oz (not to be confused with Gina Wickwar's Toto of Oz) and The Three Imps of Oz, and Margaret Berg's Ozallooning in Oz

tell me how you like ozolooning
I will. I actually used to be in communication with Margaret Berg back in the days of the Oz Story Circle. At that point, she was writing The Reading Tree of Oz, and I know she submitted it to Buckethead Enterprises, so I wonder why that hasn't been published yet. They do seem to have an enormous backlog, but I was under the impression that she'd finished Reading Tree before Ozallooning.
