I finally got my copy of the latest Baum Bugle in the mail yesterday. Pretty good timing, really, since there are several features on John Dough and the Cherub, the action of which began on...July 3rd. The issue also has two reviews that I wrote, and seeing your name in print is always pretty cool, isn't it? And speaking of Oz, I've also been spending a fair amount of my recent time reading the Book of Current Focus Archives. What does it say for me that I not only enjoy reading the same books over and over again, but that I also like reading DISCUSSIONS of those books over and over again?

bethje and I were considering going to the movies and/or Atlantic City in the evening, but we ended up just going to Bennigan's. They have a new appetizer of fried mushrooms, which I would not recommend. I like mushrooms in some things, but the "in some things" is a key part of that statement. By themselves, they really don't taste like anything, so an appetizer of enormous mushrooms with nothing on them but breading is kind of pointless.

And speaking of pointless, I can't say I really understand all those people waiting in line for iPhones last week. I mean, I plan to get the final Harry Potter book on the night it comes out, but you can actually DO something with that after getting it (i.e., read it). I guess, unlike Mayor John Street, I'm just not a gadget guy.

i just got the bugle today and have been reading it and saw your name and said, "hey!...wait a minute! I know that name!"

Thanks for putting a link to the BCF archive, I use to have it on my old computer, but for some reason it stopped loading and I couldn't find it for a while. I remember reading a previous BCF about the Wogglebug and did a search and found the BCF again, but it only brought up a dead link, so thanks again, i can get back into re reading discussions again.

I think the only other time I've been mentioned in the Bugle was as a quiz contributor, and that was back when Fred Meyer was around. So it's pretty cool to see something I wrote there. Looking at my reviews, they kind of sound overly negative, even though I enjoyed both of the books. Oh, well.

I think the BCF archives were moved to the pumperdink.org server because Ivan was having trouble with his old one. That might be why you had trouble finding them before.
