If I may follow the LJ trend of wishing a happy birthday to dead celebrities and then posting their pictures, happy birthday to Mr. L. Frank Baum!



I've thought for some time that it would be cool to have a mustache like that, but I know I'd never be able to pull it off. When I tried having a mustache with no beard, it looked pretty stupid.

Yeah, I saw that, and pointed it out on a few Oz mailing lists. A first edition Wizard of Oz really IS worth a lot of money, but I wonder why they chose that book in particular.

I'd only ever known you with a moustache and no beard. Not that your moustache was anything as swooping as Baum's.

His long hair plus that mustache made him look like a car thief. Am I right or am I right? I made him shave that mustache off on July 4, 2000. 'S true.

I believe I had a beard for much of my senior year. But then, I don't think I saw you as much that year as in previous ones.

YEah, I was student teaching and living at home the whole second semester, so there goes half of it.
