Their ideas are fried in fat
May. 9th, 2007 10:43 amBefore I get into the main content of this post, does anyone know how to back up data from The Sims 2? You know, like if you want to back up your game data to a CD? Are there specific folders I have to copy?
Okay, now that that's out of the way, on to other matters. I've now listened to Tori Amos' new album, Tori Visits the Wig Shop...oh, sorry, I mean American Doll Posse a few times. It's okay, I guess. It's kind of annoying that the songs that stand out the most for me upon these early listens ("Devils And Gods," "Programmable Soda," and "Velvet Revolution") are also some of the shortest. They end when I'm starting to get into them. Some of the others have been growing on me, though. I like the somewhat country-tinged "Big Wheel," even if it DOES use the term "MILF" (spelled out, rather than pronounced acronymically); and I enjoyed "You Can Bring Your Dog" and "Mr. Bad Man" when I was listening to them in the car earlier today. I do think the album seems to have a little more edge than Tori's last two records, albeit not on every song. I haven't examined the songs enough to determine whether there's anything to the multiple-personality concept, or that's just another of Tori's weird flights of fancy that serve to make the songs even more confusing than they already are. But hey, if it weren't for the confusing flights of fancy, she wouldn't really be Tori Amos, would she? {g}
I think this might only be the second new release for 2007 that I'm heard (Frank Black's Christmass technically came out in 2006, although I don't know how many people actually got their copies before New Year's), which is kind of weird when you consider how many cool albums I'd already heard by this point last year. But then, I remember being somewhat disappointed by most of the albums I got in early 2005, so maybe even-numbered years are just better for my kind of music. I'm not about to go back and run statistical checks on release dates to determine how accurate this is, though. {g} There IS the new They Might Be Giants album coming out in July, but the people who've heard that one already seem to have not-so-complimentary opinions on it. But then, some TMBG fans have not-too-complimentary opinions on EVERYTHING. Of course, there are also some who are incredibly positive about anything the Johns do, so maybe it balances out.

Program Files > EA Games > [various Sims 2/expansion related folders]
And, uh, if you mean specifically which folders to backup instead of ALL of them, it depends on why you're backing up (saving neighborhoods or solely custom content?). Pretty easy to figure out though.
