Disconcerting

The other day, I had a Sim drop dead for no apparent reason. She was pregnant at the time, which might have had something to do with it. Her husband managed to save her from death, but I don't know whether the unborn baby was also saved. I'm kind of afraid to play that house again, since it feels like it's cursed or something. {g}

And speaking of video games and dying, I managed to kick Ifrit's fiery butt in Final Fantasy V, but my characters didn't have enough life left in them to make it to a save point afterwards. So it looks like I'm going to have to make them kick Ifrit's fiery butt again. Faris is currently a thief, and I'm wondering if I should change her class for the Ifrit battle, since thievery skills are pretty useless for that battle. Has anyone reading this played the game? If so, any suggestions for making it through the Library of the Ancients? (Yeah, I could check an online FAQ, but what fun is that?)

2. How many people were there?
Not that many, I'm sure. The venue doesn't hold that many anyway, and it wasn't filled to capacity.

3. What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
The big (no pun intended) winner is definitely They Might Be Giants. I looked back into my archives, and it appears that I've seen them twenty times. That's actually less than I thought I had, and I noticed that I mentioned in one of my entries that I'd probably seen them "upwards of twenty times," when I believe it was actually only my fifteenth show. Still, it's a lot more times than I've seen any of the runners-up. I've seen both Tori Amos and Ben Folds six times each, two of them being at the same show. Since Tori was the headliner and Ben the opener, I guess Tori would technically be in second place. I've seen Neko Case four times as the main headliner, once as a co-headliner, and once as a member of the New Pornographers. And I've technically seen Corn Mo live six times, but never as a headliner. I saw him thrice as an opener for TMBG, once as an opener for Ben, once as a guest to sing (okay, scream) one song with Ben, and once as a musical guest at a burlesque show.

4. Do you have any setlists? From what bands?
No, I've never been able to figure out how to go about getting them.

5. Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
Yeah, a bunch of burned CD's, and some software.

6. What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
I don't know that I'm in the mood to attend a concert at all right now.

7. Have you ever been on a tour bus?
Nope.

8. Have you ever partied with a band?
I can't say I've ever really partied at all, with or without a band.

9. How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in?
Hmm...Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware...I think that might be all. So four. That number seems so low, though. Does the fact that I've seen concerts on both sides of Pennsylvania count for anything?

10. What bands did you see live the month of May?
Well, LAST May, I saw TMBG. And I saw Ben Folds in May 2005, and Sloan and Neko Case in May 2004. (Incidentally, searching for the word "May" in concert entries has led me to the conclusion that I used the word "maybe" WAY too much.)

11. What CD are you addicted to at the moment?
Well, I've been listening to both of the Dresden Dolls' albums recently.

12. Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand?
You know, I can't really think of any.

13. Have you ever been on anyone's guest list? Whose?
No.

14. Last band person that you got a picture with?
The Johns from TMBG, I think.

15. Do you consider yourself a groupie?
Don't you have to have sex with musicians for that?

16. How old were you when you went to your first concert?
If you mean a concert at an actual rock venue, I was 18.

17. Who was it?
Weird Al. I'd seen John Flynn live before that, but I don't know whether that was a proper concert.

18. Which artists haven't you seen yet that you want to see?
If we're only talking about artists who actually do play live occasionally (which means that a band like XTC is out of the running, even though I'd love to see them live), my top choice might be the Magnetic Fields. Rilo Kiley might also be cool to see.

19. Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
I'm not wearing any shirt right now.

20. What band do you own the most merch of?
Definitely TMBG, although I own more CD's by XTC (largely because there ARE more).

21. Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
Yeah, probably.

22. What are your favourite venues to go to shows at?
Small venues where you can sit down.

23. What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
I don't think I've ever actually taken pictures of any bands. The answer would have to be TMBG, though, since I have some pictures on them that bethje took on my computer.

24. Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
I don't think I'd get a tattoo representing ANYTHING. If I were forced to, I doubt it would be band-related.

25. How many concerts do you average a year?
How many years are we counting here? The number has been steadily increasing over the last few years, although I have a feeling it might go down again this year.

That Sims game is NOT well-timed!

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It's not very realistic anyway, though, since Sims only remain pregnant for a few days, and then give birth right in their own homes. Actually, the other day, one of my Sims gave birth to twin boys.

Is there any way your pregnant sim could have seen a ghost?

That happened to one of mine and it was very sudden and unexpected. I delete gravestones and urns from properties now.

I don't think so. This was a house I made from scratch, and no one had previously died on the property. There WAS a ghost hanging around one of my other houses, and it scared somebody, but they didn't die. Sometimes Sims with the Knowledge aspiration WANT to see ghosts. I've also seen some Sims particularly want to see the ghosts of their enemies, which seems remarkably cruel.
