The Answer Key

vovatHas anyone reading this ever seen a film called Why Man Creates? I saw it twice back in school (once in sixth grade, and I think the other time was in seventh), and I can't remember all of it. I believe the first segment was called "The Edifice," and represented the history of the world in a building. Another one had a high-bouncing ping-pong ball, which I think was a metaphor for an idea, or something like that. But the segment I remember the best, and one that comes to my mind quite often, was a really short one consisting entirely of a conversation between two animals (snails, I think). It went something like this:
Snail 1: Have you ever thought that radical ideas that threaten institutions later become institutions, which in turns reject radical ideas that threaten institutions?
Snail 2: No.
Snail 1: Oh. For a minute, I thought I had something there.

lozenger8 recently asked me some interview questions, so I might as well go ahead and answer them.
1. Even though you're not a bachelor, do you wish Bachelor Chow existed?
I guess I technically AM a bachelor, since I'm not married, and I have a bachelor's degree, to boot. {g} Anyway, to answer the question, it would be cool if it existed, but I probably wouldn't eat it. When I want to eat something easy to prepare with little nutritional value, that's when I heat up some Hot Pockets. {g}
2. Have you been doing any of your Oz writing? If not, why not?
Not recently. As of late, I've been so Sims-addicted that most of my free time has been going into that. I still come up with a lot of ideas, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to actually writing them down.
3. Would you say that American Dad has surpassed Family Guy in being consistently funny?
Overall, I think I still find FG to be the funnier of the two, but there have been weeks when a new AD episode far surpassed a FG episode (and sometimes a Simpsons episode as well).
4. Do you think American Idol has run its course?
I think they've run out of ideas to keep it fresh, which is why they have to resort to dumbass stunts like have exit doubledoors that only open on one side, so Simon can say, "Other door, love" about 80,000 times per episode. I won't pretend that I'm not still somewhat entertained by it, though. It's a guilty pleasure, I guess. Blamebethje. {g} I have no clue how much longer it will last, but since it's cheap and gets good ratings, I'm sure it'll be around long after everyone who isn't in a contestant's immediate family has lost interest. But since the contestants tend to come from rural areas, their immediate families are generally large enough to keep the ratings high. :P
5. What's the best feature that The Sims 2 has that the original didn't?
I think mostly just that there are new interactions that make logical sense, but weren't included in the original. Like, now you can talk to the postman, raise cooking skill levels by actually cooking, cuddle in bed, and work out without a weight bench. The aspirations are also pretty cool, since they give you some goals to work toward, but it's annoying when you just keep cycling through the same ones over and over again.
And while we're on the subject of answers, how about the answers to the game from this post?

The song is "Ramblin' Rose." The version I have is by the Fastbacks, but I think it might have originally been by a group called MC5. Nat King Cole has a song with the same title, but I think it has different lyrics. Regardless,jenhime got the title correct.

7. Well, guy in a skeleton costume comes up to a guy in a Superman suit, runs him through with a broadsword.
"Oceanographer's Choice," by the Mountain Goats.revme got the artist, but not the song. Since the title really has nothing to do the song, I can't say I blame him for not knowing it offhand.
8. When we met we still had innocence, and we did things because they made sense.

The song is "The One I Love Is Gone," and it was apparently originally by Bill Monroe, and covered at one point by Linda Ronstadt. The version that came up for me was actually by the Meat Purveyors.
