I think my favorite icon is still Wart, which is why it's the one I use the most. This one that [livejournal.com profile] bethje made is also pretty cool.

Andy Partridge's latest project is an album of experimental music, called Monstrance. There's a preview of the track "Winterwerk" here. While not as bad as I was fearing, it's not that good, either. I mean, it might work as background music, but it's not something I'd want to buy an album of. Maybe some people would like it, though. I'm not so much into the freeform music. I like melodies and lyrics, because I'm lame like that. :P

In case anyone was curious, Beth and I did go to Red Lobster for the Tuesday shrimp special, and I got to use my coupon. One thing I've noticed about Red Lobster is that they tend to not wait long at all between bringing the appetizer and the main course. Well, except when you order the all-you-can-eat shrimp, in which case they wait longer, for obvious reasons. Anyway, the shrimp was good, but I think the fried kind has been better in the past.

I actually liked Winterwerk. It's minimalist without being overtly Reich-ian or Glass-ian. (Not that I don't like Reich or Glass, I do.) I thought the video distracted from the song though. I spent most of the first time through thinking "Damn, he looks old!" and "two bald guys and one with hair." After I listened to the song again, I started to actually hear what they were doing with the instruments and it was much more enjoyable.

Yeah, I was struck by the two bald guys as well. I probably should try listening to it again. I doubt I'll get the album regardless, but there's a chance it might grow on me.

My favorite icon of yours is the XTC mermaid one:

...but I also like this one, which kind of reminds me of the Slimes from the Dragon Warrior/Quest games:

I'm interested to know which one you like!

I think I'd have to choose this one, even though I don't know who it is:

Well... to answer your question, the character is Skuld from the anime series "Oh, My Goddess."

This animation actually shows up in the end credits of the episode that introduced her character.

I can't figure out what the icon meme means. But then again, we've just determined today that I've officially developed Pregnancy Brain (really exists, the magazines say so) and can not be relied upon to understand and/or remember anything right now. Actually today I just realized that I may have put a registration sticker on the wrong car a month ago. And I thought I left a water bottle in a grocery cart, but it turns out I packed it in a bag with the orange juice after all, although I have no recollection of actually doing that.
Anyway, so I can't figure out what the icon meme means.

Well, basically, as far as I can figure out, what happens is:

1. You reply to the post (which you've done).
2. I tell you which of your icons is my favorite. In this case, I think I might actually pick the one you used in the reply.
3. You make a post in your journal, using the icon I picked, and using the same text I did. And the beat goes on, so to speak.

But then again, we've just determined today that I've officially developed Pregnancy Brain (really exists, the magazines say so)

I guess that's a reason I should be glad I'm not female! {g}

I've never put a registration sticker on the wrong car, but I DID forget to renew my registration last year, and then finally thought of it one day when I was coming in to work. I don't think we even get the stickers in New Jersey.
