My parents are probably both going to be coming up here (separately, of course) within the month. This is helping to provide the motivation for me to finally go through all those boxes of stuff I brought from my mom's house. I think there are only two left now, plus a tote bag. After I'm done sorting those, I have to decide where to put all the stuff that I can't just file in the filing cabinet, which will be the harder part. Maybe some of it will end up back in the boxes. Also, I should probably go through the cabinet itself, which currently has a heavier load in the top drawer than in the bottom. Right now, though, I mostly just want to get rid of the mess. Then maybe I can actually hang up all my posters and such.

I uncovered quite a few things during my box-sorting, including my copies of Yankee in Oz and The Ozmapolitan of Oz, as well as Eric Shanower's Oz graphic novels. I guess those are somewhat superfluous now that I have Adventures in Oz, but it's still nice to know what happened to them. I had been wondering that for well over a year now. I also found another one of my second grade journals, and I will share with you another story, proving I was one messed-up kid.

A pteranodon was named Too Much Candy because he ate too much candy. He works for the Easter Bunny. I saw Too Much Candy today at recess. He was flying through the sky. I visited him a few days ago. He gave me some food. I had pizza. He had candy. We visited a volcano. I saw rocks come out. The rocks were called lava. It was a neat volcano. Ecsuse [sic] me, I have to use the bathroom.

Yes, that last sentence was actually in there. No, I don't know why. The teacher didn't leave a comment in the journal like she did with most of the stories, though. It does seem that, even back then, I had trouble with endings.

And here are some more quiz results.

You paid attention during 100% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

You Are Apple Cider

Smooth and comforting. But downright nasty when cold.

Hey, I LIKE cold apple cider!

Maybe it's just me, but I found the comments in the results of the "did you pay attention in high school" quiz to be insulting. Yes, I paid attention in high school. No, not all Americans are morons.
