bethje and I watched Sleepy Hollow last night. I have to say that it certainly wasn't Tim Burton's finest hour (or two hours, or however long it was). It seemed like ol' Tim wasn't quite sure what he wanted the movie to be, seeing as how it switched from a condemnation of our forebears' ignorance ("Hey, our turn-of-the-nineteenth-century justice system sure is corrupt and stupid!") to a Scooby-Doo type of thing ("Wow, the Headless Horseman is really one of the guys we met at the beginning, who worked out a convoluted plot so he could embezzle some money or something!") to something about masochistic lesbian witches and carriage-top swordfights. I mean, I guess it kind of all fit together (I was going to say "made sense," but that's a little too generous) in the end, but...eh, just not a great film.

Looks like my name has always been popular, although somewhat more so now than it was earlier this century. Actually, it looks like it had a spike in popularity not long before I was born (1977). There WERE other Nathans in some of my classes at school.

Yes. Two of them, in fact!

I don't pay those.

It really varies.

No.

I've never attended a Happy Hour, and I don't plan to start anytime soon.

6. How many miles is your commute to work each day (one way)?
Again, it varies.

7. What time do you get up every morning?
Would you stop asking me these questions with no definite answer? I'd been getting up around 6 on recent weekdays, but this isn't really typical for me. Today, I got up around 11 or so, I think.

8. What is your definition of sleeping in late?
"Late" is a relative term. If someone sleeps for upwards of ten hours, I'd say that was a long time to sleep. But if they got up from that sleep at 5 AM, could that really be considered "late"? On the other hand, if I slept from 2-7 PM, well, that would mean I was up pretty late in the day, but five hours of sleep could hardly count as "sleeping in," could it?

9. Have you found any gray hairs?
I think so, but not very many.

10. Do you check your cholesterol on a yearly basis?
No.

11. How large was your first cellular phone?
Only a little bigger than the one I have now.

12. Does your employer provide good health insurance?
Employer? Health insurance? I know these words, but the question makes no sense.

13. Did you use the internet to write a research paper back in the old days of high school?
No, I didn't have Internet access until college.

Um...I have no idea what this question is asking.

15. Have you attended a high school reunion?
No, and I don't intend to.

16. How many jobs have you held in your professional career?
Can I really be considered to have a professional career? I guess you could say I've had three jobs that related to my degree.

17. Have you ever been fired or laid off from a job?
The latter, yeah.

18. What is your favorite drink?
Lemonade

19. What is the most expensive bottle of wine that you have in your residence?
I don't know if there's any wine here, but if there is I didn't buy it, and I'd have no idea how much it cost.

20. Have you been divorced?
I think you have to be married before you can do that.

21. How old were you when you stopped getting IDed for alcohol/tobacco etc...?
I think I've bought alcohol, like, three times, and got carded one out of those three. So I don't have enough experience to establish a pattern. I DID get carded going to the Bowery Ballroom a few years ago, and the guy thought my driver's license picture (which was taken when I was 20 and had long hair) didn't look like me. I no longer have that problem with my current license picture.

22. Favorite casino?
Drinking, smoking, AND gambling in one survey? Oh, well. I hardly ever gamble, but I usually park at the Showboat when I go to Atlantic City, because it used to be free. It no longer is, but I still park there, out of force of habit.

23. Are you happier now than you were in high school?
I'd say so.

24. Did you ever have Hypercolor shirts?
No.

25. Do you remember when Michael Jackson was black and attracted to older people?
Black, sure. But wasn't it a pretty long time ago that he took Emmanuel Lewis with him to the Grammys? Was he EVER really attracted to older people?

Hmm, probably Weird Al

27. Favourite fancy/upscale restaurant?
Heh, yeah, because I eat at fancy/upscale restaurants. Even if I could afford to (which I can't), I'm a fairly picky eater, and not so fond of the "we have exactly five items on the menu, each of which contains at least one gross ingredient" kind of setup that I've seen at some expensive restaurants.

28. How long has it been since you attended a kegger?
I've never been to a kegger. I've never even been to a box social.

29. What's your favorite game from the original Nintendo Entertainment System?
Dragon Warrior IV

30. Where were you when you found out about 9-11?
I was actually at a job interview at the frame store in the mall.

31. When's the last time you were at a 7-11?
It was a while ago. I usually go to Wawa instead.

I can't say I've ever done that.
