In a dream I had last night, I was back at my old college dorm building for some reunion or something. I believe [livejournal.com profile] rockinlibrarian was also there, and I was wondering if [livejournal.com profile] arfies (who really does live in that dorm now) was in the building. It mostly looked like that hall really did when I lived there, except the basement was bigger, and the machines in the exercise room had been replaced with weird stuff that I didn't recognize. I remember thinking it felt weird to be back there, which I'm sure it really would be if I were to ever visit there again. I have a lot of memories of that place. The thing is, there really WAS an Honors College reunion, but I don't know whether anyone I knew actually attended, nor do I know whether attendees were allowed into the dorm.

Gas prices have dropped a considerable amount, at least in my area. I'm sure they're just preparing to raise them to ridiculous amounts again when they have another hurricane to blame.

By the way, thanks to everyone who suggested FTP servers. I'll probably check them out when I have the time.

Would these weird machines be vending machines? Because there definitely isn't an excercise room here anymore. If you go down the stairs to the left, there's the washing machine room with vending machines. Across from that is the big screen TV room. Down the hall on the laundry room side is the garbage room. There's the elevator, the janitors' rooms, and various storage rooms. At the very end of the hall is the DUNGEON (mwah hah hah! Some friends and I snuck in there last year and looked at all the unused dorm furniture, desks, chairs, bedframes, microfridges, you name it. Quite cool). To the right of the stairs is a paper storage room, music practice room, and RA office.

I seem to recall the exercise room being in between the laundry room and the garbage room. Or is there no space in between those two rooms? Perhaps it was actually further down the hall from the garbage room. Now that I think of it, I remember your saying before that the exercise room is now gone. Maybe I had that in my subconscious mind during the dream. I know the practice room was down there back in my time, but as I don't play any instruments, I never had any occasion to go in there.

The vending machines were in the laundry room when I was there. I think the things in the former exercise room in my dream were abstract sculptures or something.

Yeah, as far as I know, there's no space between the two rooms. Was the big screen TV room there when you were?

Yeah, it was there, right across from the laundry room. The closed captions were always on, and the chairs were pretty crappy. Is that still the case?

I really wish I could remember where that exercise room was. I'm sure I'd know if I were to see the basement again, but I can't place it in my mind.

Yup, still couches covered in questionable substances. Part of the way through last year, though, they got a few nice new ones to add to them. I usually prefer to sit in those.

I have to wonder why they have leather couches in the Great Hall, but they couldn't bother to provide decent seating in the TV lounge. Maybe they figure Honors students shouldn't be doing anything so plebeian as watching TV. :P

Not to mention with all the renovations on the first floor (for "visitors", of course) done last year, they didn't bother to ventilate the basement so it didn't smell like a fart all the time.

Don't be silly! Thay have to stay low until at least mid-November so that we can all know how hard the Congressional majority is working to make your life better.
