Play all day without throwing money away

bethje and I went to Clementon Park yesterday evening. It's a small amusement park, and the crowds are never all that big, so we were able to ride everything we wanted to ride in a few hours. That worked well for me, because I think I'm getting to the point where making a day out of a trip to an amusement park is too much for me. I still enjoy the rides, but a few hours is enough excitement for a while.

The park was pretty much the same as it was last year, although there's no longer a large and probably unlicensed Freddy Krueger head around the gift shop entrance. In addition to riding rides, Beth won me a Fozzie Bear/Cowardly Lion toy from a claw machine. I still haven't seen the Muppets' take on The Wizard of Oz, but it is on our Netflix queue.

And now, two examples of dumb stuff I've read within the past day:

1. A guy at Clementon Park was wearing a shirt bearing the words, "Farting is just my way of saying I (heart) you."

2. I walked by a TV set that was showing a news broadcast, and the closed captioning included the line, "Pollute Toe not a planet." Why I am imagining a disgusting celestial body covered in toe jam and athlete's foot?

Tomorrow, it's off to the Monster-Mania Convention. It's annoying that the Coreys cancelled, though. What else do they have going on?

Yeah, that was cool. Thank you again for that. That was some tasty food, even if I couldn't finish all of it.

I wish we had amusement parks around here. A whole parts whose sole purpose is amusement (and heavy mark-up!) - Just the place for me.

I have "The Muppets Wizard of Oz," having two of my favorite things. Now if only the Beatles and "Bewitched" were in there, I think I would watch it 24/7...

It's cute, but not as incredibly awesome as I hoped it would be. Ashanti (as Dorothy) can't act. I wish they used Queen Latifah (as Auntie Em) more (hey, if an older Diana Ross could be Dorothy in "The Wiz," Latifah could've easily played her instead).

I'm still waiting for the movie where Mario and Luigi visit Oz and watch Simpsons and Futurama episodes with Ozma, with a soundtrack by They Might Be Giants. {g}
