Since [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I had never seen the original Pirates of the Caribbean, and someone at her work had loaned it to her, we watched it on Sunday night. I didn't love it as much as some of y'all do, but it was a pretty solid film. A little on the long side, though. There were a few times when it seemed like the whole thing was about to be wrapped up, and then hey, there's more! A lot more, in fact! The ending dragged somewhat, too. Overall, though, it was fun. I'll probably see the sequel at some point, but not at the theater. I wonder if I'll get through the entire year without seeing any movies at the theater. It's weird, because I actually went to the movie theater more times than usual last year, but there just isn't anything I particularly want to see this year. Nothing I'm willing to pay those prices to see, anyway.

In other news, dreams I had last night included:
  • A few Sims-related ones, including something about a statue that would magically transport the children in a house to an alternate dimension.
  • Some dream where I was watching some special on Super Mario Bros. I think the Angry Sun featured into it at some point.
  • A dream where I went back to college. My classmates from the Honors College were also back, and I was excited about it.
  • One where I was watching a new Simpsons DVD commentary on which people kept talking about high gas prices. So if that comes up on the Season 8 commentary, just remember, you heard it here first! {g} (When IS Season 8 coming out, anyway?)
  • One where I was in some dance class at school, which seemed to be a bizarre mix of aerobics and tap. At first, it was all girls, except for a big guy and me, and neither us were doing any of the dances. Later on, I think [livejournal.com profile] yosef was in the class, as well as a few other guys.

There were some others, but I can't remember them right now. I should probably start writing these things down. (Well, that's kind of what I'm doing now, but I mean right after I wake up from them.) EDIT: I did manage to remember another one, which I added to the post.

I can't find a few CD's that I used to back up data from my computer, and I think some of them included Sims stuff that I downloaded. I wonder if I left them at my mom's house.

Season 8 comes out YESTERDAY! I saw it at Scarecrow today, in fact, along with The Weird Al Show! I didn't get either, since I'm hoping Costco will have at least one for cheaper. But still.

Beth picked up Season 8 at Target for $30. We haven't watched any of it yet, though. I'll probably get The Weird Al Show eventually, but it's not a really high priority. How much do most places seem to be selling it for?

I _think_ Scarecrow's got it for about 26 bucks. Scarecrow typically tends to have reasonably fair prices; not the best in the world, but not the worst, either. So, I'd probably bet you might be able to find it as low as 20-22.

It looks to be $22.34 at Amazon. I'll probably shop around a bit before actually purchasing it.
