An Unexpected Sighting

A few days ago, I was looking at something on the Internet, and a web page came up for some dating site. This would hardly be noteworthy if it weren't for the fact that there was a picture of my roommate on it. Weird, huh?

I was also talking to said roommate on my cell phone in the grocery store checkout line last night, and when I'd finished, the checkout clerk said I sounded kind of like "the short guy from Seinfeld." She hastily added that I didn't LOOK like him, but it was still a new one on me.

travspence mentioned the Library Hotel in a recent post. Something kind of similar appears in Lemony Snicket's The Penultimate Peril. I wonder if Daniel Handler was aware of the real-life hotel.

Those first two things are very weird. You didn't ask your roommate about it?

I showed her a screen capture of the page. Apparently one of her cousins (not Beth) had seen it before, too. I think it checked the ISP and gave profiles of people in the area, so it's not like it just randomly chose her out of everyone in the world who'd registered for that site. It was still weird, though.

Well, I don't think my voice is very similar to George's, but I probably have a similar tendency to sound (and be) frustrated by everything.
