Last week, I did this babelfish meme, and [livejournal.com profile] revme got all of the songs but one. That one was "One Down," by Ben Folds, a song he wrote to fulfill contractual obligations, which appears on Ben Folds Live.

I'm going to do this game again, but this time all of the songs will be by They Might Be Giants. There's one from each of their first six studio albums. Also, I'll screen the comments.

1. I would not like to change your understanding ability. I would not like to think of your understanding ability. They say that the love is blind. I do not think that you are blind. They would not like to cover. I would not like to vibrate the hand and the kind in the sand of your father and indeed as a man.

2. I had become born in a headlight. My nut/mother was the sea. I crept to be seen in order to form each morning, if it appeared to me the fact that the life satisfies an environment a ring which is not not us permitted, and this are what he said me: My range is pleasantly small, if the rubber draws the walls, and gives someone, which my names always call. It calls, if I only am and call him, if I am no head and call him, if I am belonged outside in the rain. I am verfremdet.

3. It fit your Goldfish freely and now on sighing it from your constant flame and has a demand roasted cultivated. It may have no note of its DBS return now, but there is no quantity things, which she takes back. They would like to still see themselves, and slowly you are rotated in the wind.

4. leave a motor vehicle. They set downward the telephone eliminate you at the hat stupidly, which you carry. I will die, if you concern me another indication. I estimate, although I will die import a little only.

5. They gave me a domestic animal name, which may not say that I want it. We are at a party meet, in order not to say that I was invited. It was fair above-mentioned love a lie, but I could explain that you were, and we represented nearly, as we would receive.

6. If I go downward the road, the majority of the aspect individuals as eleven I mean it not to set it downward however. It is hard to understand from the language to me that I use. It does not have there English from word into for my kind.

#5 is one of my favorite TMBG songs, and I like the translation that came out.

It's one of [livejournal.com profile] bethje's two favorites, but I know some people really don't like it. I was kind of unimpressed by it at first, but I later got to appreciate it more. It's different, but it's a good song.

These were entertaining

Yay. It's funny, but with not having listened to any of it for such a long time I'll entirely forget about certain songs. So a few of these had me going "Oh yeh, that song! I remember that song!" It's a weird feeling.

Well, I did try to choose songs that weren't, like, the big singles or anything. I guess "Twisting" is a pretty well-known one, but most of the other Flood tracks I tried just didn't change enough over the course of the translation. I did like how one line from "Lucky Ball And Chain" turned out, though, so I used it in the title.

Yeah, those are right. For #4, I originally included the chorus, but I thought that made it too easy, so I cut it out. "The smell of love is everywhere" came out as "the smell of the love is everywhere," which struck me as a giveaway.
