Today,
bethje and I went to see a comedy show at the Trocadero. Michael Showalter was the draw for us, and he was accompanied by Eugene Mirman and Leo Allen. Honestly, I really don't go to that many comedy shows. I saw George Carlin when I was in college, Mr. Show during there Hooray for America Tour, and some not-very-good thing at the UCB Theatre when I was up in New York with Beth,
colleenanne, and
themall. That's all I can think of offhand. But anyway, getting back to the topic at hand, I'd never heard of either of the two non-Michael comedians, but they were all funny. Describing comedy routines usually doesn't work that well, so I'm not going to say that much about them, but I do think it's worth mentioning that Michael shared some jokes that he'd come up with in his dreams, which made no real sense when he was awake. After the show, Beth and I both bought posters, and all three guys signed them for us. Beth also got a DVD of the Stella shorts, which Michael autographed.
By the way, the EP by The Last Car that I bought yesterday is cool, but way too short. It has six songs, but three of them are the short ones about Mr. T that were featured on the They Might Be Giants podcast.
I'm pretty tired right now, so I think I'll go to bed soon. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to catch up on my friends page, but I wouldn't count on it.
