Apparently people in Philadelphia don't slow down for school zones, even when the warning lights are flashing. Both today and yesterday, I drove through an active school zone, and a whole bunch of people started zooming past me, as if I had just suddenly slowed down for no reason. Philadelphia drivers are kind of crazy in general, though, always driving in tightly packed formation so that no one can ever change lanes, even though there are all sorts of sudden lane changes that people who don't drive there regularly aren't going to know about. I'm sure this isn't unique to Philadelphia, but it's particularly noticeable there. And besides, it's a custom all over the world to make fun of people in nearby places, even when most of the world couldn't even tell the difference. I'm sure that, as far as most of the Earth's population is concerned, I basically AM a Philadelphian. But hey, at least I'm not one of those losers from Pittsburgh! Or Wilkes-Barre! {g}

Mind you, I'm probably going to be moving to New Jersey, which is the butt of a lot of jokes. I'm not really sure why. I mean, sure, there are scummy parts of Jersey, but there are scummy parts of every state. I get the feeling that it's the New Yorkers who are to blame. But nobody much seems to like New Yorkers either, so why does anyone pay attention to their complaints about the neighbors? Sometimes there's no understanding people. Anyway, it would be SOUTH Jersey I'd be living in, which isn't the smelly, densely populated part. Not that people from outside the area would be likely to care.

I wonder what I should do with my web page. It's currently on [livejournal.com profile] bethje's AOL account, but she won't have AOL for much longer, so I guess I should move it. Or part of it, anyway. I want to keep the Oz stories, since I know people read them. And I sometimes still get comments on stuff that's only available on the old version of the page, despite the fact that there's a notice right on the front page that it's changed location. I guess people coming to it via search engines or whatever might not see that notice, though. Anyway, I'm wondering whether I should move the page, and if I do, whether there are some sections I shouldn't bother moving. Also, where should I put it? Are there any free servers that don't totally suck?

Oh, so that's what you look like.

(having clicked on your website)

You have a list of all your CDs. That is awesome. I'm surprised I haven't done that.

Yeah, I actually haven't updated that recently. I don't think any of the ones I got this year are listed.

I also wonder NJ is joke material. Like any other state, it has its crumby parts. But, much of it is quite nice and there are still rural parts. The truly bad thing for the general populace is the cost of real estate and taxes. Gas prices are probably the best from what I've seen of other states.

Yeah, gas prices are pretty much always at least ten cents cheaper in [livejournal.com profile] bethje's area (probably soon to be my area as well) than where I currently live, so I try to get my gas in Jersey whenever possible. I've heard that Pennsylvania has a higher grade of fuel or something, but I've never really noticed a difference (not that I know enough about cars to be aware of such things anyway).
