I watched last night's Simpsons episode, but I didn't really think that much of it. The thing is, the two main premises weren't bad (although Burns's part was sort of a rehash of "Monty Can't Buy Me Love," an episode that I'm not sure why anyone would WANT to rehash), and I think there was a time when they could have made them work. And hey, I guess I should give them credit for actually having the two plots overlap, right? But the episode just kept leaving me thinking, "Nothing's really happened yet, has it?" I think the best part was the framing story with the billionaires' retreat, especially the joke at the end.

In other news, I really should get my Christmas list organized, and start thinking of gift ideas. I'm really not very good at that. Now that I'm married, I guess [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I can start giving joint presents, but that probably means we'll also be RECEIVING those. I'm also working on a list of things I want, so I'll have something to say when someone asks me. Oh, and if I send out cards this year (and notice I said "if"), does anybody reading this want one?

Anyway, happy Bodhi Day, Immaculate Conception, and first day of Eid al-Adha! Not that I celebrate any of those, but that doesn't mean I can't wish you well, does it? And happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] majellen!

Since most of the votes in my poll last week said I should move on to EPs and other miscellaneous TMBG material, this week I'm going to take a look at (or, rather, listen to) the bonus material from Then: The Earlier Years. This includes all of the songs that were on the B-side collection Miscellaneous T, aside from the single mixes of "Don't Let's Start" and "(She Was a) Hotel Detective." There are also several early, previously unreleased recordings that were eventually released through eMusic as "Giants Jubilee" and "Mightathon," which I would assume means that the Johns had no role in naming them. Anyway, here we go:
