vovat: (Simpsons Al)

I watched last night's Simpsons episode, but I didn't really think that much of it. The thing is, the two main premises weren't bad (although Burns's part was sort of a rehash of "Monty Can't Buy Me Love," an episode that I'm not sure why anyone would WANT to rehash), and I think there was a time when they could have made them work. And hey, I guess I should give them credit for actually having the two plots overlap, right? But the episode just kept leaving me thinking, "Nothing's really happened yet, has it?" I think the best part was the framing story with the billionaires' retreat, especially the joke at the end.

In other news, I really should get my Christmas list organized, and start thinking of gift ideas. I'm really not very good at that. Now that I'm married, I guess [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I can start giving joint presents, but that probably means we'll also be RECEIVING those. I'm also working on a list of things I want, so I'll have something to say when someone asks me. Oh, and if I send out cards this year (and notice I said "if"), does anybody reading this want one?

Anyway, happy Bodhi Day, Immaculate Conception, and first day of Eid al-Adha! Not that I celebrate any of those, but that doesn't mean I can't wish you well, does it? And happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] majellen!
