I got my copies of Adventures in Oz and Trouble Under Oz today. Just in time for Ozma's birthday, too! I also got my credit card bill, but hey, you can't win 'em all. What's weird is that Amazon divided my order into two shipments, and I got the second shipment first. That's actually a good thing, since that was the one I really wanted. I do have to wonder why the other one is taking so long to get here, though. Waiting for packages is rather irritating, but it also gives me something to look forward to.

The limited hardcover edition of Adventures looks really neat. It includes sketches and background information for all five of the graphic novels in the volume, plus some additional stuff. There's also a map showing locations from some (but not all) of the Oz books and stories written and/or illustrated by Eric Shanower. I'm sure you all know how obsessed I am with maps, making this quite an exciting feature for me. I have no idea why the Forest of Gugu is on the opposite side of the map from where it appeared on earlier ones, though. L. Frank Baum specifically says in The Magic of Oz that it's "in the central western part of the Gillikin Country."

I had two dreams about going back to school recently. In one, I was at my old elementary school (or a building that looked a lot like it did when I went there, anyway), and I discovered I'd lost my driver's license. I went to the principal's office to ask if anyone there had seen it, but they hadn't. I started looking around, and I saw it under a grate, so I lifted the grate out (it came out really easily), but there were other grates below it, and I accidentally knocked it through another one. I DID find an old identification card, though, as well as several other people's licenses and credit cards. A few other people started to gather around, and one of them said she'd tell the principal about the treasure trove of lost cards, but the dream ended before I could find out what would come of that.

On Saturday night, I was in high school, and I was excited because it was the last day of school. I still had exams to take, though, and I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to show up for gym class during the exam period.

Last night, I had a few dreams I can't remember, but I know that one of them involved an Oz book that I was going to read, but I woke up before I could start. I hate it when that happens, and it was a relief to find that I actually DO have some new Oz material to read today.
