Yesterday, I went shopping at Target, and bought a few items for household use. I also picked up Rabbit Fur Coat, the album by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, because I'd wanting it, and it was only $10. I've listened to it a few times, and it was definitely worth the money. I can't really think of anything specific to say about it, but I like the general sound. "Rise Up With Fists!!", "The Charging Sky," "You Are What You Love," and the title track are all cool songs.
Here are three other things about my trip to Target that I feel are worth mentioning:
1. While I was looking for some new pants, there was some guy in the area who loudly declared, "You're not going to find too many guys wearing pink shirts. Especially not that bright, faggoty-looking pink over there, that looks like an Easter Egg." I actually have some pink shirts, but I didn't see which ones he was talking about, so I don't know how "faggoty-looking" that guy would find them.
2. The lady working at the fitting rooms (oh, for those innocent days when you could just walk into the fitting room without getting a number first!) had a hairstyle that reminded me of one of the original heads in The Sims. I'm not really sure why, but that's what it made me think of.
3. As of late, I've been noticing kids who have these shoes with wheels on the backs, so that they can sometimes just walk normally, and other times roller-skate across the room. Are these some new trend among the youth? I have to admit that I'm not really on top of these things. I guess I'm becoming an old fogey (not that I followed the trends that much when I was a YOUNG fogey, either). Actually, they seem like a pretty cool idea.
And finally, while this has nothing to do with anything else,
revme posted a link to Cary Grant singing FCC regulations, and I thought it was worth passing out.
