I don't want to shake your father's hand, and walk in the sand, and act like a man

Hey, it's pretty warm out today. Too bad it's not supposed to last. (Yeah, I know that unseasonable warmth is bad for plant growth and all, but it's good for ME.)

I practiced guitar today for the first time in a while. I should probably get back on track. At least I don't generally forget what I practiced before. I guess guitar lessons are something I have on my mental list of Things To Get If I Ever Get A Full-Time Job, but that list is so long that it's unlikely I'll be able to get all of them for several years, unless I have a really high starting salary (yeah, right).

I'm slowly catching up with alt.music.tmbg and the Frank Black Forum. It shouldn't take too much longer.

A Tribute To Music

According to this post, there's apparently a They Might Be Giants tribute album in the works, with Frank Black contributing a track. (I hope he covers something other than "Particle Man.") Sounds pretty cool, if it is indeed true. I'm not sure what I think of David Miller's comment about making TMBG songs appeal to "indie audiences" who don't currently like them. I mean, sometimes a cover CAN make someone realize how good a song is, even if they don't like the original performer's rendition. It would be good if people would recognize the Johns as songwriters, even if they don't like their voices/instrumentation/whatever. Isn't it usually fans who buy tribute albums, though?
