I just watched the live DVD that came with the new Belle and Sebastian album. I thought it was pretty cool. I look forward to actually seeing B&S live in March. On the DVD, Stuart Murdoch says (in his Scottish accent that makes every sentence sound like a question?) something about how The Life Pursuit has a lot of songs with the F-word, because they were aiming for a parental advisory warning. The copy I bought didn't have one, but I have seen some CD's that didn't have them at first but later did, so maybe it's not too late. {g} I know Live Noise, the live album from Moxy Früvous, didn't have one when I bought it, but I later saw it in stores with one. The use of the parental advisory seems really inconsistent. Sometimes a few curse words is apparently enough to warrant one, but other times there can be quite a few expletives and no warning.

There are some Frank Black B-sides available for download on iTunes. It looks like there isn't going to be a CD release, unfortunately. I much prefer to buy physical copies of these things. I suppose that this way, it isn't possible to waste money printing up too many copies. And hey, it's cool to hear these songs. Frank's music usually takes a while to grow on me, but "Ludwigshafen" is definitely a good one, and I quite enjoy the acoustic take on "Le Cigare Volant." I'm sure I'll start to like some of the others better after a few more listens.

I have noticed a lot of Canadian releases dont have the parent warning on them. which may be why the Moxy didn't have it.

I used to like Frank and The Pixies but lately( the past few years) I just cant get into it any more it just sounds so dull to me for some reason now.

Do you mean you no longer like the old Frank/Pixies stuff, or you don't care for the newer stuff? I know quite a few Frank fans who don't think much of Frank's most recent work. Personally, I like it, but I doubt he'll ever top Teenager of the Year.

Ive totally lost interest in Frank and the Pixies. the new stuff is quite bad though. I can still listen to the old stuff but its just not the same to me anymore. I find it a bit boring now, where as most of the other music i listened to in the 80s/90s i still love. I dont know what it is about them.

I can't listen to the violent femms either.

Maybe you've just gotten tired of Frank? I'm sure that can happen. I haven't been a fan very long, so who knows what I'll think in the future? As of yet, though, it's been unusual for me to lose interest in an artist or band. I won't listen quite as much after a while, but I still like it.

I've never been into the Femmes, so they're not an issue for me. {g}
