Get back to where you once belonged
Oct. 28th, 2005 05:19 pmNow that I think about it, there IS something wrong with Al Franken's new book. I mean, Terry Pratchett already wrote a book called The Truth. AND it contained jokes. What a blatant ripoff! {g}
Seriously, though, I watched the Amazon promotional video that was generating so much controversy. I guess I'd have to agree with the person who pointed out how ironic it is that people are responding to a video that mocks right-wingers who "review" Franken's books without reading them by, well, "reviewing" the book without reading it.
On Wednesday night, I watched the bonus disc of
bethje's Nightmare on Elm Street collection, which had a lot of interviews with directors, actors, and other crew members. There was a lot of interesting information on there, including stuff about the mythological motifs in the story, and how a lot of people think Part 2 is homoerotic.
It bugs me when I hit the "Back" button on my browser, and the last page reloads itself. I just feel like, when you hit "Back," it should take you to the EXACT page you were looking at before, not an updated version. This is especially annoying when I'm looking at something that receives new posts, because it makes it hard to keep track of where I left off reading. There's probably some setting to avoid that, but I don't know how.
I just saw a female religious singer named Ashton Parsley on TV. I wonder if that's her real name. I guess it must be, because who'd change their name TO that? As it turns out, I think she's the daughter of the show's host.

This next one is a pretty scary result:

| Borg You scored 55% on these questions! (That's not a bad thing, mind you) |
Resisting anything you do is futile. People will do what you want, or you will MAKE them do what you want. Oh, if we ever actually run into a race like the Borg, odds are you're gonna be assimilated just so they can figure out how to kill us all. |

There's no denying that you have a certain flair. You don't mind being around others, especially your little brother, the hyphen, but you rarely emerge except when needed. You respond well to those who know how to treat you, but have only contempt for those who don't--you tend to embarass them every chance you get. Your only enemy is the colon--he will sometimes try to move in on your turf. |
