I got blisters on my feet from walking around Philadelphia in uncomfortable dress shoes a few weeks ago, and they still haven't gone away. The one on my left foot is especially bad. It's annoying.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I watched Lost in Translation and the third disc of Monsters, Madness, and Mayhem. The former was a good movie, I thought. I don't have much to say about it, but I enjoyed it. I can't say the same about the latter. As with the last disc, it had some interesting information, but was poorly edited and ridiculously sensationalized. It was about Halloween, and the narrator went on about how evil and dark its origins were. When they had the inevitable section on people tampering with candy and such, it was introduced as if it were some big deal, even though, when someone actually talked about it, they made it clear that it was incredibly rare, and more of an urban legend than anything else at this point. (They didn't mention the other important fact about the razor blade apples, which was that they were all given to kids by people they knew.) They also kept featuring this so-called historian guy who insisted Halloween was in violation of the Bible. He was simply credited as "Dr. Jacob K," and they never showed his face. Was he afraid the demons would come after him if he revealed his true identity? If you want to watch a documentary on Halloween, try the History Channel's The Haunted History of Halloween instead. Not only is it more interesting and more neatly put together, but it doesn't have a host who has saws hanging on the wall behind him for no apparent reason.

[livejournal.com profile] bethje bought the Ditty Bops' album, and I'm listening to it now. I think my favorite songs on it so far are "Wishful Thinking," "Sister Kate" (which is actually a cover, and which I already knew from [livejournal.com profile] revme's mix of cover songs), "Gentle Sheep," and "Four Left Feet." Overall, it's a cool album, and has an old-timey sound that you don't hear much in new music these days. I tend to think it's something anyone would like, but then, I think much the same thing about the Young Fresh Fellows, so what do I know?

Gmail isn't working for me right now. Is anyone else having this problem, or am I the only lucky one?

Gmail is working for me. Are you getting an error or is it just not loading? If it's the latter, trying doing a forced refresh on the browser and see if it loads for you.

It kept giving me an error message about the server being down. It's working again now, though.

Well, if he revealed his full name, then demons would be able to have power over him. Remember, never let a demon know your true name or you will always be their plaything!

Hooray for the Ditty Bops!

I have thought that it would be kind of fun to do a thing where you buy the Ditty Bops album for anyone who wants it with the proviso that if they like it, they must too buy it for someone else with that proviso. That would be pretty awesome. It could sell a load of copies that way.
