Ugh, taking naps tends to make me feel so weird and groggy. I'm generally only comfortable sleeping when I'm properly prepared for bed. I really did need a nap, though, so I guess it's good I took one, weird feelings notwithstanding.

Anyway, yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] bethje and I went out to the King of Prussia Mall. Beth bought a purse at the Sanrio store, and we had dinner at Bennigan's. After that, we stopped by Tower, but we didn't get anything there. Honestly, the King of Prussia Tower isn't particularly good. I don't think I've ever bought anything there, but I've bought stuff at the one on Broad Street in Philadelphia on several occasions. That might be partially because of the mood I'm in when I'm at the two respective stores, but I think the Philly one really does have a better selection. For instance, they had the new Carolyn Mark album, while the King of Prussia one didn't.

Later, we went to the IKEA in Conshohocken, so we could get a bookcase for Beth. We did get one, but it took a while, because of the store's odd and confusing layout. There was a jazz band playing the Sesame Street theme in the café area, which we ended up passing multiple times. When we finally got the shelf, we had to figure out how to fit it into my car, which was a real challenge.

Today, we met [livejournal.com profile] slfcllednowhere in Philly, and visited the Mütter Museum. I'd actually been to the College of Physicians before, back when I was in library school, but I'd never been to the Mütter. It was pretty interesting, if a bit disturbing at times. One interesting fact was that there was apparently a time when medical students could check out specimens from the museum. There was also a lot of information on conjoined twins, and an entire cabinet of stuff that people had swallowed.

After leaving the museum, we went to eat with Quinn and her mom at a sandwich shop on 21st Street. I think it might have been called Tony's. I had a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a long roll, which was pretty good. Then Beth and I returned to New Jersey, and I took the nap that made me feel weird and groggy. I suppose that brings this post full circle. {g}

Heh - we also bought a bookcase at Ikea that didn't fit in our car (at the time). We drove down the road with shelves sticking out about a foot on either side. I'm surprised no one stopped us, because it seems pretty moronic of us now.

My friend Melanie wants to go to the Mutter - I'm a little squeamish, but I'll probably end up going with her...

I don't think I'd ever want to risk driving with shelves sticking out of the windows. I tend to be paranoid that things will fall out of my windows even under normal conditions.

I think there's something about trying to fit furniture into cars that makes people a little bit crazy. "Yeah, it'll fit! All I need to do is rip out this door, stick this end into the glove compartment, and leave the trunk open!"
