Terrorist attacks in London

Ugh. It totally sickens me that there are people who would do that kind of thing. And it was done in the typical method of terrorists and warmongers: if you have a problem with somebody, you attack someone else who has the misfortune of living near the ones you hate. There was a claim that the attacks were "in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan." Never mind that Tony Blair's decision to get involved seems to have been quite unpopular with the British people, so there's a good chance the terrorists killed people who AGREED with them in that respect. It really makes me wonder what they hope to accomplish. It's all so stupid and tragic. And the even more depressing thing is that there's really no way to stop it. Even if they destroy Al Qaeda (which doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon), there will always be people who think mass murder is a good idea, many of them in positions of power.
I'm probably going to post a regular entry later today, but I thought this deserved a separate post.

Date: 2005-07-07 11:43 pm (UTC)Yeah. I can never understand why people don't get that. But then again, I can't understand a lot of things people do. It's so sad. You meet so many people in the world who all seem like sensible people, and yet all this insane stuff keeps happening anyway. People are just screwed up.
