Not guilty on all counts? I thought they might at least have gotten Michael Jackson (as if you didn't already know who I was talking about) on one of the minor charges. I suppose the particular case against him was pretty suspicious, but I still don't know that I trust Jackson. Both sides had something fishy going on, if you ask me. But you didn't, so I might as well move on to other matters.

In continuing with our sequel-watching, the movie bethje and I watched last night was Hellraiser 2. I liked it better than the first one, largely because it had both a more developed plot, and a more interesting setting. The first movie took place pretty much entirely in one house, while the second film actually showed Hell, and filled it with cool labyrinths and such. So, yeah, I liked this one.

I think with Michael Jackson, that I reeeeally wouldn't be surprised if he does molest kids[1], but that this was a really, really lousy case to have tried, since it really, really seemed that this particular group were hardcore scammers. There's rumors and whatnot that there are other kids/families, and if there are, one of them _must_ have had a better case. (And funny thing is, if that were the case, then the Scammer Family probably would have had a much easier time of winning their own case...) But oh well. I suppose whatever happens is going to happen. If anything, I was kind of hoping he'd get found guilty, just so we wouldn't have to hear about his Antics anymore. (but that's a mean thing to say.)

[1] For what it's worth my armchair diagnosis of him is that while he's doing the whole molesting thing, he doesn't _REALIZE_ what he does is molestation, what with him being so, you know, mentally/morally/whateverally stunted from, you know, having his childhood. Which doesn't give him a pass or anything, but is preferable to the type who are doing it because of the power issues/other stuff molesters do it for; he's just doing it because he's sort of a child himself, and children experiment with things, including each others' bodies. It's just that now, he's 40, and he passed that "creepy" barrier a long, long time ago.

Yeah, I wouldn't be all that surprised if he's molested kids, but I wouldn't be that surprised if he really didn't, either. Regardless, it's still not right for kids to be sleeping in the same bed as him.

The thing is, I doubt this whole thing is going to have any impact on Jackson's hardcore fans, and I wouldn't be too shocked to see something else along the same lines come up in a few years.

Yeah -- pretty much. I think I might be a _little_ surprised if it turned out he wasn't, but not too bad. But yeah -- the whole "sleeping in the same bed" is wacky, and you'd think that'd set off flags even for him that it's not a Great Idea or anything, y'know?

But yeah -- I expect in another 10 years or so, there'll be YA allegation that finally makes it to court, and his hardcore fans will be all "HE LOVES CHILDREN!! BUT NOT IN THAT WAY!!" and everyone else will be "Eh, whatever. Is he still around?".
