I had a weird dream last night. At one point,
bethje and I were at this place where they had a bunch of undelivered mail, and Beth found a Six Flags mailing there. Mine would have been quite close by (I think we had the same last name in the dream, and we really ARE both on the Six Flags mailing list), but it wasn't there. Then, later, I was with my brother, my dad, and his wife at some kind of combination video store and pizza parlor. I had to return a video tape in this slot that had a magnet on the chute, which made me wonder how they could do that without the tapes being erased. My brother bought some gross pizza with olives on it. Either my sister showed up at the same place, or I was somewhere else with her later, because we were at ANOTHER place with undelivered mail. In my sister's section, for some reason, were some things Beth had sent me years ago (back when I was in college, I think), but I had never received them, nor had I ever been given any indication that I hadn't gotten them. One of the things she had sent was an envelope containing, among other things, a bottle of pills. I never actually took the bottle out to see what kind of pills they were, but I think I suspected that they were supposed to keep me awake when I was writing a paper. I guess the fact that the package apparently contained stimulants would explain why it never got delivered, though. There was another part of the dream where Beth and I were arguing loudly about transportation matters on the night before a concert, and disturbing the woman who works the reference desk in the evenings at the one library where I'm employed.
I wish I could think of more things to write about. My recent posts have apparently been pretty lame, as evidenced by the fact that neither of my last two spawned any comments.

Date: 2005-04-23 04:45 pm (UTC)At least you have dreams that you can remember or have something in them that happens. My dreams usually have to do with waiting for something exciting to happen, e.g. kayaking whitewater or meeting the Johns. It's all about the paralyzing anticipation, i.e. nothing is going on except the waiting. And the worst part of it all is that the exciting event never occurs in the dream!

Date: 2005-04-23 06:23 pm (UTC)I know I've had waiting-type dreams in the past. There have been a few where I was at a concert (often TMBG), but the band would never actually play. Or sometimes they would start, but the whole scene would quickly change into something totally different.
