Here are the interview questions that
skylark_king asked me:
1. What is your favorite Discworld book and why?
I don't necessarily have an overall favorite, but I have a special fondness for Interesting Times and Reaper Man, since they were two of the first ones I read. The very first was Men at Arms, but I didn't think that one had quite as many laugh-out-loud moments. While I like all of the different types of books (Watch, witches, Rincewind, etc.), I particularly like the ones that feature the Unseen University faculty in a significant capacity.
2. If you had just three wishes, what would the fourth one be?
Probably to do the first three over again. :P
3. What XTC song do you feel most reflects your personality?
My first thought is "Outside World," because I've always been rather disturbed by what's going on in the news, and I'd often rather be left alone with my swans and lions, so to speak.
4. You get to loose your sight or your hearing, which do you choose?
Really tough question. My first thought would probably be sight, because I like to read so much, but I think I might actually have an easier time learning Braille than sign language. Can I choose neither? :P
5. Who do you think would win in a fight,
Frank Black or Andy Partidge?
Probably Frank. He's almost twelve years younger, and seems tougher.
Here are the interview rules, from
skylark_king's journal:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions and leave the answers as comments on my LJ.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
I doubt anyone will take me up on it, but I'm including the rules just in case. I need more sheep-like LJ friends. :P
I guess the biggest news I have to report is that I've finished the rough draft of my novel-length Oz manuscript. It comes out to 56,746 words. I'm sure it needs a LOT of editing. There are some things that I probably didn't explain well enough, and I have a bad habit of introducing a lot of new characters who don't really do much of anything or show much personality. The ending is also kind of rushed, but I really wanted to get it finished. I noticed that I had the Wizard of Oz appearing in two places at once, so I did fix that. I'm somewhat concerned about the fact that I made the villains sort of a parody of the feudal Japanese. I started this story when I was learning about feudal Japan in school, and I didn't mean it to be offensive or anything, but I'm not sure how it would come across to others. So, yeah. I guess I want other people to read it for editing purposes, but I'm not sure how to go about finding such people.
Hmm,
bethje and I heard the end of this song, "The Mariner's Revenge Song," on the Princeton radio station recently. I THOUGHT it sounded like the Decemberists, but I wasn't totally sure. I remember another time when they played the Tain EP, which is, like, one long song or something. I don't have that, although it is on my Amazon wishlist.

Date: 2005-04-09 05:37 pm (UTC)Let's see what I can come up with here:
1. What's the best album you own?

4. If you could live forever (in good health and all), would you?
5. What's your favorite planet (not counting Earth)?
you asked for sheep, my friend.
Date: 2005-04-10 07:29 pm (UTC)2. Cake :) The food and the band. 'Though pie is better for putting in people's faces.
3. He sold it for crack money. Or so I've heard.

Date: 2005-04-10 06:11 pm (UTC)2) I don't know if I can pick just one... but because I have to, I would pick "See the Constellation" I've just always been fond of that song ever since I got the CD.
3) I'd live on Nantucket... just off of Massachusetts. I'd be close to home.
4) I suppose I'd have to answer Peanut Butter and Welch's Jelly.
5) Well... I suppose it would be some sort of ghost or spectre. Then I'd have someone to talk to. Zombies and the like are not conversationalists and I'd have to be somewhere where they couldn't kill me. A Vampire could convert me... but there's no certainty there'd be enough blood for us... so that'd be no good. So... the ghost could be someone to talk to... but wouldn't need food or the like.
