My husband always makes fun of me for loving the Wii more than other systems, because it has worse graphics and controls, and it's true that a cross-platform game will usually be worst on the Wii. But the Nintendo-specific games are great, and I only like "cute" games anyway. Mine has been a great investment.
The new Kirby game is good for the casual gamer because it is indeed basically impossible to die (you can get carried up to heaven but you're just dropped down in the same spot) and while it's not so easy as to be boring, the emphasis is more on fun and exploring in the levels than on staying alive. It's a bit like Kirby meets Little Big Planet, if you ever played that on PS3. Plus you just hold the Wiimote sideways so it looks like the old NES controller; no nunchuk required.
There's also a new Donkey Kong Country game coming out that I'm pretty excited about!
