The Jewel in the King Hat
Aug. 15th, 2010 07:54 pmThe only particular significant thing that happened this weekend, other than my being rejected for a job as a cashier at Target, was when
bethje and I went to see Paul F. Tompkins in Philadelphia. We ended up leaving later than we had intended to, so I parked in the nearest lot to the theater, which cost $18 for less than three hours. Damn you, city parking! Anyway, it's difficult for me to review stand-up comedy, but I enjoyed it. Among other things, he talked about how he once worked in a hat shop, and how at least two people asked to see the "king hat." This was especially amusing because I remember
therealtavie mentioning someone calling a crown a "king hat." Then again, maybe it was one of the same people. {g} I also found that he and I have a common fear of being yelled at. After the show, Beth bought his first CD and mentioned that she knew him through Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and he said no one had ever said that before. And unless you care that we ate at Applebee's after that, there really isn't anything else to say.
