Penn & Teller's Bullshit!: Easy Money - While it did a pretty good job at exposing the whole multi-level marketing concept, it didn't really have much to say beyond the obvious. It did make me feel bad for the people who are taken in by these schemes. Desperation can make fools of anyone, after all. I do have to wonder how even the most desperate people can think trying to sign up others as "co-consultants" or whatever could qualify as EASY money. Even if it really worked, it would be pretty difficult money as far as I'm concerned. One thing that did bother me in this episode was Penn's rant about how social security is a pyramid scheme. Not that he didn't have a point about how there aren't as many people working these days to pay into it, but the argument doesn't quite hold up because, as I mentioned earlier today, the government is not a business.

Futurama: The Duh-Vinci Code - This one started out as a parody of The Da Vinci Code, which, while funny, struck me as having been done before. There was already a Simpsons episode along the same lines, after all. Switching it up part of the way through to the idea of a planet where Leonardo is the dumbest person kept it fresher than it might have otherwise been. I liked seeing the future version of Rome, and the recurring jokes concerning Braino and Fry's not knowing what to use to hammer in a nail were pretty good. Appearances from the Space Pope are also always welcome. I hope we get an episode featuring him more heavily in...well, the future.
