I don't think I ever even walked into a public library until I was about 13 -- the bookmobile came to our school back then, but as you can imagine their selection was limited, as was the selection at our school library. When I finally did get my own library card I found that there was nothing Oz related at my school's library, so I went on thinking I was the only Baum reader left in the world until I was in my 20's.
