No, strippers tend to stay pretty much in one place. Well, they move around a lot, but just on the stage. I've heard.

*ahem* I've been getting those same add requests ... you'd think a stripper wouldn't be all that lonely.

WTF did that userpic come from?!? It's not one of mine!

I had a problem a few months ago in which one of my userpics was mysteriously replaced by a picture of a woman's butt. Maybe you should re-upload whichever icon you were trying to use.

I guess strippers see MySpace as a good advertising tool, but I have no idea whether it's actually paying off. I have to imagine it's not, but then, it IS free. I'm still a little puzzled by that profile that said this girl had to travel a lot because she was a stripper, but maybe you're right, and she simply meant on stage.

I dunno -- the Stranger (our local free weekly) has a LOT of ads that are basically "Now at Strip Club, Jazzxxxzzzzmin! One week only! From Sextown, USA!" So, I think, perhaps if you're really into stripping and are good at it, then you actually do get to tour. Which seems kinda odd. I wonder if they sell t-shirts. "Oh, man, that was a great show; I mean, not as good as Albuquerque -- she was really into it then, puttin' more clothes on just to take 'em off -- but, y'know, I'd say top 10 of this tour. Last tour, though, MAN, that was awesome, with the light show and everything... I heard she wanted to get back to her roots for this tour, though."

I know burlesque dancers sometimes tour, but there's usually a little more to their act than just taking off clothes, so it makes more sense.

Yeah, and that DOES make more sense, but, yeah -- the ads I'm talking about are pretty clearly Normal-Type Strippers.

My regular userpic has just as mysteriously reappeared, now. *sigh* Gotta love modern technology.

I wondered the same thing with the "travel a lot" statement from the stripper, but in any case I can't imagine it would pay off through MySpace. In my experience people who want to see a stripper go to where the strippers work; and everybody in town would know where that is. There just aren't a whole lot of traveling strip shows these days!
